Chapter 2
As I stepped out of the restroom, 1 overheard someone quietly asking Atlas.
“Dude, are you sure? Do you really not have feelings for Celeste anymore?”
His voice was flat “She’s just a broken bitch with her brain fried. Take her if you want.”
The ceremony started.
Bella could tell I was a mess, so she had someone else fill in for me as bridesmaid.
Atles got down on one knee, looking all serious as he slipped the ring onto her finger.
1 stood in the back corner, watching Bella beam as she said “I do.”
Jealousy punched me square in the chest. I wanted to run up there and stop them. I wanted to scream at Bella for stealing my boyfriend.
Why did you hide him from me? Why did you let me search for three fucking years?
And Ades Krúgja- why are you pretending you don’t know me? Why didn’t you come find me when you got back? Why is everyone lying to my face?
I wanted to burn this whole wedding to the ground.
But I didn’t
I just sat there in my corner. When they finished their vows, I was the first one to start clapping.
1 capped so loud that people turned to stare at me.
I didn’t give a damn. When Atlas finally looked my way, I stared right back at him.
Our eyes met and my nose started burning. The tears I’d been holding back just poured out.
Something flickered in Atlas’s eyes for half a second. Then he looked away like I was nothing. His face was stone cold–no emotion at all.
My fingernails dug deep into my palms. I think I’m losing my mind.
1 pulled out my phone and typed out a message:
“Ades Knight, I don’t want to wish you a happy marriage.”
He Was just busy Marrying My Bostle

Chapter 2
“I curse you. I curse you to spend your whole life wanting someone you can’t have.”
Right after I hit send, I started laughing at myself like an idiot.
The woman he loves just married him. My curse is useless.
I didn’t stick around for the rest of the wedding. I went straight home before I completely lost it.
About a year ago, when every lead on Atlas went cold again, I tried to kill myself.
But I didn’t succeed. My neighbor found me and rushed me to the hospital.
–
When I woke up, his mom Chloe Rivers was crying and holding my hand. She begged me to keep living – to live for
him.
But a world without Atlas is just darkness. It’s too much.
We grew up together. Started dating when we graduated middle school. Right after college, we were picking out a date to go get our marriage license.
Then his company went under. The debt was crushing him, so he jumped off a building and just… disappeared.
I practically lived at the police station and questioned every single stranger who was there that day.
Not one of them saw him.
Now he’s back. But he doesn’t love me anymore.
