Chapter 52
Venus POV
In all my life, I had never once thought that those who you have welcomed with open arms would betray you, stab you in the back, and then enjoy seeing you bleeding out.
I was so happy for my father when Gaia married him. After I married Aaron, I still rooted for both my stepmother and stepsister, but who knew that they were both wolves disguised as sheep?
Gaia used magic from witches to control my father, and Vicky used it to control Aaron. How could they be so vicious? They destroyed the lives of others. For what? To live lavishly? No, I didn’t believe that. Because they were already living nicely because of my dad’s money. There was something even more
sinister that was driving them!
“You’re lying!” she shouted. “You just want to separate two mates.” She looked at Aaron. “Aaron, trust me, she is a liar!”
“Queen Ketari was here yesterday, and she confirmed that the magic was identical to the magic used in these two potions!” I spat. She backed a little more, tension bracketing her muscles. I sauntered to her and knelt before her. “In the morning, you thought you would put Aaron under your spell.“! pointed at her eyes. “After Queen Ketari pointed out that magic was used on both Aaron and dad, I zeroed it all down to both you and Gaia. I was sure that you wouldn’t stop at mixing the love potion. And your proved me right. This morning when you came to our house, you reeked of the magical love spell.”
“They why didn’t Aaron fall in love with me?” Vicky said, but the next moment, she slapped her hand on her mouth, realizing her mistake, and I knew! was right.
I chuckled as I got up and went to stand with Aaron. “Because Queen Ketari gave him a potion that has coated him with a layer of protection. Now he is immune to yourspells.” I placed my hand on Aaron’s chest. “Now he knows for sure that you are not his mate.” My lips curled up. “That divorce drama in the moming–it was just a ploy to apprehend you.”
“Vicky…” Gaia whispered. “Run…”
I was on a roll. “The reason you didn’t disapprove of Aaron’s request was because the layer of protection on him was mixed with a spell where you couldn’t refuse him. You see, magic has tremendous power. But you should know how to use it, and you should use it for the betterment of society, and not maliciously.” I removed a lint from my shirt. “Your game is over, Vicky. Now SHIFT!”
I don’t know why, but I wanted to see their wolves. Not even once they had shifted, and that was suspicious as hell.
Vicky cowered, whimpering and crawling back. “I–I can’t…” she said in a raspy voice. Her body covered in sweat at my command.
“I don’t fucking care!” I shouted. “SHIFT!”
I heard the bones cracking, body reforming, but it wasn’t Vicky who shifted. It was Gaia. And she shifted into a fox.
“What the bloody hell!” Alpha Martin roared, his muscles bulging.
My eyes went wide as a red fox looked at us with panic in her eyes. She glanced at Patrick as if asking him to help her, but my father was too numb to speak anything.
“Seize her!” Alpha Martin shouted. Immediately, several warriors swooped down on her and caught her.
My shock was beyond words. If Gaia was a fox, then even Vicky was one. How were they able to conceal this fact from us for so long? These foxes infiltrated our pack and managed to manipulate two powerful people in the world. If I hadn’t discovered the magic, I would have lost both these wolves forever. A shudder skittered down my spice as I stared at Vicky. Rage returned with full force and I roared at her, “SHIFT!”
Vicky couldn’t hold a candle to my command and with a squeak, she shifted into a red fox with a brown mark on her head.
“Fuck!” Aaron said, his eyes going wide. “Fuck. Fuck!”
Vicky’s fox stared at me with hate in her eyes. In a sudden panic, she scrambled backwards before making a sharp turn and breaking into a sprint in the

opposite direction. “Catch heri” ordered the warriors. Before the warriors could go after her, Aaron shifted into his woll and ran i rusher foturbe in human form, my mind stunned,
How could foxes be a part of our family? Why didn’t daddy recognize them? Why couldn’t I recognize them? Any amount of spell wasn’t enough to conceal their real identities. I had heard that after Alpha Martin had chased them away into deep jungles, they never came out, but I guess is wrong. They came out to take over our pack, I didn’t know if Alpha Martin would ever spare us for this or would think that daddy and I were traitors. But one thing I knew, and that was to punish Vicky and Gaia for what they did with me, for mixing poison in my beautiful life, for casting spells of my father and making him believe he had a chance after my mom. Now what was going to happen to him? Just the thought made me want to cry.
They didn’t stop at that. They targeted Aaron to weaken me and the pack. It was a deep level conspiracy.
Vicky’s fox was fast. She ran as fast as she could, weaving through the dense trees, jumping over the fallen logs, creeping under the bush. It was as if she knew this terrain pretty well. Suddenly, I heard more grunts and raspy barks.
“There are more foxes!” A warrior shouted.
Shit. I increased my speed to catch Vicky. Within a few minutes, I noticed several more foxes in front of us. They converged and concealed Vicky. We chased them hard, but they outran us. An hour later, they had disappeared deep into the jungle and Alpha Martín called it a day.
Tired, hungry, mentally and physically exhausted, we reached home. My father didn’t feel like talking at all, and so he retired to his room. Just like him, I had lost my appetite. We both knew what was in store for us. This was the highest level of crime committed against the pack. Even though we were both innocent, would the Elders believe it? Would Alpha and Luna believe it? What about Aaron? He suffered because of me. Because my father brought a traitor into our house. It wasn’t our fault, and then it was.
Alpha and Luna didn’t talk to anyone. They went to their room where they called their sons, but they didn’t call me. It hurt, but who could blame them? Instead of going to my bedroom, I went to another guest room and took a long bath.
The news about Vicky and Gaia spread like wildfire. Even the servants were giving me a wide berth. It was time to go back home. My love for Aaron returned with a smashing force. But why couldn’t I detect him as my mate? Maybe he wasn’t. So I decided to do what was best for all of us.
I was going to divorce him.
Free us all of this agony.
What happened next shocked the hell out of me.
