Venus POV
In the next couple of days, things started becoming normal Initially, I found happiness in just being me, and not having to worry about Vicky of Gata, 1964 having to think that I had offended Vicky. It felt as if a heavy weight had suddenly been lifted from my mind. As for Aaron, he was bark to his normal setti didn’t want to imagine all the pain and conflicted emotions he had gone through for the past few months. He was recovering with each passing day
Daddy had gone back home, but he was very sad. The next day when I went to meet him, he was so proud of me after seeing Arron’s mark on my shoulder. At the same time, I could feel his sadness through our bond. He loved mom so much and after he came to know about Gaia’s betrayal, his
sadness increased multifold.
“I’ll go back home, chickee,” he said to me. “For a few months, I forgot about your mom, but now I want to go back and relive her memories”
“Daddy, please stay for a few more days. I want to take care of you.” I was sure that even he had toxins in his blood.
He took a deep breath in. “No, chickee. I’ll go back, but I promise to show myself to a doctor,”
In my heart I knew he was missing mom so much that he had plans to follow her. And that made me uneasy. I couldn’t lose my father. Not now. And 1- knew I couldn’t convince him enough to stay back. Daddy left a day later, promising everyone that he will take care of himself.
Alpha Martin and Luna Marie had a talk with both of us before daddy left.
“I am sorry, Martin,” my father said. “But I had no clue about Gaia’s true identity. I mean-” his jaw ticked. “I didn’t know she was a fox. If I had known, I wouldn’t have married her. It seems she had concealed her true identity in layers of spells.”
“I know,” Alpha Martin replied. “Don’t feel guilty about it, Patrick. After all, even Aaron was a victim of the same plot. I can’t blame you or him for what happened. However-” he looked at me with fondness. “I have to say that I am proud to have Venus as Aaron’s wife and future Luna of the Oak Pride Pack. She has thwarted a major conspiracy of the foxes. It was her idea to talk to Queen Ketari.”
Alpha Martin and daddy embraced each other in a bear hug, and everything seemed like it was getting back on track.
We were newly married, but we were also aware that we had to balance high school, responsibilities that came from being part of a powerful pack, and everyone was watching us because we were the future leaders.
Aaron was basically glued to me at school. Everywhere we went, he was holding hands or brushing shoulders, or leaning in close to whisper something. Our connection had become intense. Slowly, I had started listening to his thoughts and could mind link with him easily.
The other day, we sat together at lunch in the cafeteria, legs touching under the table, and his arm draped over my shoulder. I rested my head on his shoulder and he kissed the crown of my head. He subtly made sure that everyone knew I was his mate and that I belonged to him.
“Get a room, would you?” Eric growled as he slapped his books on the table and glared at us. “You two need to learn some distance instead of holding hands all day!”
I giggled as Aaron scowled at him. “What are you doing here?” he growled back.
“I’ve come to talk to Venus, not you,” Eric responded, picking up Aaron’s sandwich.
“Well, she’s not available,” Aaron hissed.
I shook my head as a blush crept on my cheeks. Aaron had become too possessive. We decided not to talk about Vicky again. The main reason was that he wanted to forget about how she manipulated/him. It made him feel helpless and murderous at the same time. Sometimes, I was afraid that he was so
enraged thinking about her that his wolf wanted to run back to the forest, find her, and kill her.
I nudged his chest with my elbow. “Stop it,” I whispered. Then I looked at Eric and said, “Tell me.”
“There’s a huge celebration at the creek. Why don’t you both join it?”

Chapter 55
She is not going there!” Aaron’seethed,
“Relax big bro!” Eric breathed. “I am asking both of you to come, not just her.”
I knew where Aaron’s fear stemmed from. He still couldn’t forget what happened last time when he saw me dancing between two boys. Let #zo Karon 1offered. “I’ll be staying with you only.” He needed to know that he had to trust me and not just possess me.
There was doubt in his eyes, but then he agreed. “We’ll be back in an hour.”
“Okay!” I breathed. This was progress.
We all walked back to our classes. Aaron sat with me as usual. A few minutes into the class, I leaned close to him and whispered with a grin, “You know you’re supposed to pay attention in class, right? Not just stare at me.”
He smirked. “Can’t help it. You’re a distraction.”
I elbowed him playfully. “Flatterer. You’ve got an entire pack to lead, and you’re obsessed with me?”
He kissed the top of my head. “Always.” His fingers brushed over my arm, his hand resting on my knee under the desk.
“And what are you doing?” I asked, my breath caught in my throat when his hand disappeared beneath my skirt.
“We’re bonding, darling. Pack leaders need to be united.” His finger went inside my panties and brushed my clit. I gasped at the intrusion in the class. “United in every way. At night, I wore my denim cut–off shorts and a halter top to go to the creek with him. He wore his khaki shorts with a polo. When we came out of our room, kissing each other frantically, we met Eric.
“God damn it!” he cried. “I am bloody grossed out by your constant touching. Seriously, do you two ever not need to be touching?”
Aaron pulled away and with a dramatic sigh, said, “Jealous, little Bro?”
He pretended to gag. “Please, no. I’m trying to walk through the house without stepping into a romance movie.” He hurried down the stairs as I giggled.
“That wolf needs boundaries,” Aaron hissed as he climbed down the stairs.
We reached the creek soon, and the moment we reached there, Eric jumped out of the car and rushed to where his love interest was. From the corner of my eye, I saw Nathan and Ginger coming to us.
