Chapter 25
In the hotel room, Olivia’s phone kept ringing on the bed over and over again, but no one answered it.
At a critical moment, Julian finally pulled away from Olivia’s lips, panting heavily. “Hots
Olivia said, “No need. I’m infertile.”
- on. I’ll go grab a condom.”
Julian froze. He thought, Infertile? Right, that makes sense. She went through hell as a kid. It probably wrecked her health‘
The phone kept ringing nonstop, but neither of them paid any attention to it.
Olivia didn’t fall asleep until dawn. When she finally woke up, it was already afternoon.
Julian was gone. On the bedside table sat a new outfit. When Olivia put it on, she found it fit her perfectly–down to the underwear.
She thought, ‘How does Julian know my size? Did he measure me while I was asleep?‘ Just picturing it made her cheeks heat up.
After getting dressed, Olivia went looking for her phone. Julian had thoughtfully charged it for her and even set it to silent mode.
When she opened it, sure enough, there were over a hundred missed calls–all from Dylan. He’d also blown up her WhatsApp, demanding to know where she’d gone.
Julian had sent her a message on WhatsApp too. He told her that he had to step out for something and asked her to text him when she woke up so he could come keep her company.
Olivia didn’t reply to Julian. She packed up and left the hotel, returning to the one she’d been staying at before.
Upon finding out she was staying at that hotel, Dylan had moved in as well and had someone bring all their luggage over.
The moment Olivia swiped her keycard and walked into the room, she saw Dylan sitting on the couch, cold and seething.
When Dylan saw Olivia, he shot to his feet and stormed over, his tone furious. “Where the hell were you last night? Why didn’t you answer my calls? Were you out hooking up with some random guy?
“Don’t try to deny it. I saw you at a steakhouse with some dude. You were even feeding him.”
Olivia replied flatly, “You’re mistaken.”
Dylan’s face stiffened. He pondered, ‘Wait, did I really get it wrong last night? Was that just someone who looked like her, not actually her?‘ The rage in his chest cooled off a little.
Olivia added seriously, “We had dinner at a fondue restaurant last night, not a steakhouse. The fondue was actually pretty good. You should take Chloe there sometime.”
Dylan’s expression darkened instantly. ‘Did she really need to correct something so trivial like it was a matter of life and death?‘ he thought.
“So you really did go out and mess around with some random guy last night?” he questioned.
Olivia shot back, annoyed, “Watch your mouth. He’s not some random guy. He’s tall, built, has an eight–pack, and actually knows how to treat a
woman.
Dylan’s face went pale with rage. “You ditched your own husband to run off with some guy, and you say it like you’re proud of it? Ever heard of the word ‘shame‘?”
Olivia frowned. “What the hell is wrong with you now? Weren’t you the one who told me to go find myself a man? The day I did, I even asked you for money to keep him. Don’t tell me you forgot already.
“And you think you’ve got the right to come at me? Before I even went on seeing another guy, you and Chloe had already been messing around for years. You’re not just shameless, you’re downright unreasonable. If anyone’s acting like some uncivilized brute, it’s you.”
Dylan’s face flushed. “I was just talking. Who said you could actually go do it? You need to cut things off with that guy immediately. I don’t want to see you with him ever again.”
Ever since that day, Olivia had stopped doing anything for him. She used to set out his clothes every morning, make his breakfast, prepare lunch and bring it to the office, and have dinner ready for him at night.
She even prepared stomach–soothing herbal tea for him and handed it to Ivan, so he could brew it for Dylan at the office every day. But now Olivia didn’t bother with Dylan at all.
Dylan pretended everything was fine without her looking after him. But in truth, his life had turned into a mess. The food tasted bland, his stomach ached every day, and sometimes he even put on mismatched socks.

Back when Olivia was fussing over him, he thought she didn’t make any real difference in his life–if anything, he found her annoying. But now that she’d stopped taking care of him, everything felt completely out of order.
Although Dylan’s assistant Ivan had taken over those tasks, he still couldn’t quite measure up to Olivia.
Even five–star chefs couldn’t cook to his taste the way Olivia could. The clothes Dylan wore every day never sat quite right without her careful steaming and prep.
And then there was that herbal tea that soothed his stomach and helped him stay calm. Without it, his temper was constantly on edge.
For the past three years, Olivia had seeped into Dylan’s life like a slow–working, highly addictive poison. Now, all he wanted was to rewind to the way things were before. Even he was sick of how easily his emotions spiraled out of control lately.
“How am I supposed to get pregnant and have a kid if I cut him off? What about your grandpa?” Olivia looked at him, her expression full of surprise.
Dylan pressed his lips together, his brows furrowed tightly.
It took a long moment before he finally spoke, like he was making the biggest sacrifice of his life, “We can have a child together.”
Suddenly, the sound of something shattering rang out behind him.
bylan turned and saw Chloe standing at the doorway, her face pale. At her feet was a broken glass cup, herbs and water scattered all over the floor.
Chloe stared at him in disbelief, tears falling down her cheeks. “You’re really going to have a baby with her? You promised me you’d never sleep
with her.
“And now you’re talking about having a kid with her? How could you do this to me? How could you betray everything we said to each other?
“You said your stomach wasn’t feeling well and you wanted some stomach–soothing herbal tea, so I called a friend back in Gravellia to help me track down a traditional medicine doctor for the formula.
“Then I ran around this foreign country searching every hidden corner for a traditional medicine clinic to get it made for you.
“I spent over five hours gathering all the ingredients and brewing the tea just right before bringing it here. And what were you doing while I was busy doing all this for you?
“You were thinking about having a baby with another woman. Dylan, how could you do this to me?”
