Two days later, Gregory returned to Sinclair Villa after work.
He’d been busy with the company’s annual reports and had stayed at the office for the past two days. That day, he finally finished his tasks and came home.
*But despite the large villa and the presence of staff, it still felt oddly empty, as if something was missing.
Gregory frowned. A sense of unease filled him, but he quickly pushed the feeling aside.
“Welcome back, Mr. Sinclair,” Jenny greeted him. “It’s been a while since you came back. Mr. Xander even called yesterday to say he missed you.”
But Gregory didn’t ask about Xander. He knew that Xander was staying with Natalie. Instead, he casually asked, “What about Anathea?”
“Mrs. Sinclair?” Jenny answered honestly, “She’s not at home. She packed her things and left.”
Gregory recalled his conversation the other day with Martin, who’d mentioned that Anathea’s suitcase was missing, “When did she leave?”
“About a week ago.” Jenny recalled. “She packed and left overnight. She said she was going to take care of her mother. Is there a problem?”
Gregory didn’t respond or ask further questions. He simply walked upstairs but didn’t go to the master bedroom. Instead, he entered the guest bedroom next to the study.
Since the last time Natalie stayed at Sinclair Villa and he had a falling out with Anathea, he’d been sleeping in the guest bedroom. But whether it was because the guest room felt cramped compared to the master bedroom or simply because he didn’t like sleeping alone, he realized he preferred it when Anathea was by his side.
Even if he always slept with his back to her, he missed the warmth of her presence.
So he instructed Cyrus to have his things moved back to the master bedroom.
No matter how much Anathea resisted, he would always find a way to make her yield. She’d always been soft–hearted, like a fluffy marshmallow that made him want to take a bite.

“Mr. Sinclair, dinner is ready,” Jenny called to him.

The dining table was set with a single portion for him, but there were four dishes and a soup, each looking delectable and fragrant.
However, as soon as Gregory took a bite of the white wine mussels, he immediately threw his utensils onto the table. The silver fork hit the wooden surface with a dull thud.
Jenny and the other maids were startled.
“Is something wrong, Mr. Sinclair?” Jenny asked.
“Who made this?” Gregory asked with a frown.
Bella Brooks, the new chef, cautiously stepped forward. “It was me. Mr. Sinclair. Is it not to your taste?”
That couldn’t be right. She’d specifically asked around and knew Gregory loved white wine mussels. She was confident in her cooking, so she couldn’t understand what had gone wrong.
