I thought Ryan had decided to do postpartum recovery and care for four babies alone, but something even more extreme was coming.
When it was time to give birth, Ryan and I were both admitted to the hospital.

I had scheduled a C–section and decided to do it on the set date.
Ryan’s water broke.
Considering it’s difficult to deliver quadruplets naturally, my dad suggested Ryan have a
C–section too.
But when Ryan learned a C–section costs five times as much as natural birth, he flatly
refused.
“C–sections are just a scam by you hospitals. If C–sections were so great, why didn’t they
do them in ancient times?”
When he said this, I felt embarrassed.
How did I end up with such an idiotic creature that usually only exists on the internet?
He was determined to give birth naturally, so my dad could only agree.
But during the pre–birth ultrasound, we discovered a serious problem. Two of Ryan’s four babies no longer had heartbeats.
Because Ryan had never done any prenatal check–ups, we didn’t know when these two babies had died, or if they had affected the other two babies.
Surprisingly, when Ryan learned he’d lost two babies, he wasn’t sad at all.
He even sighed in relief, muttering: “Thank goodness. Now I don’t have to raise four kids.”
I was just shocked by this statement when Ryan thought of something else and looked up at me: “We agreed to each raise the babies we carried. Now I only have two left, so you
can’t give me one of your four.”
I stared at him wide–eyed. “You lost two babies and that’s all you can think about?”
Ryan frowned. “What else? Survival of the fittest, you know? Those two didn’t have heartbeats because they weren’t developing well. They weren’t meant to be my children.”

I bit my lip.
Thinking about how the dead babies were mine too, my stomach suddenly hurt, then my water broke.
The medical staff saw and immediately brought over a gurney, rushing me to the operating room.
When I woke up again, four babies were lying quietly in small beds next to me.
I saw my mom and asked: “Where’s Ryan? Has he given birth?”
My mom frowned. “What kind of person did you marry?”
That’s when I learned that after finding out two babies had died, my dad had offered to do a free C–section for Ryan.
Ryan had initially agreed, but when he found out recovery after a C–section would still cost quite a bit, he refused.
He insisted on giving birth naturally.
He’d been in labor for a full day and night, and had only delivered one baby so far.
I said I wanted to go see.
Luckily my mom was the hospital director, so she pulled up the surveillance footage.
In the video, Ryan’s whole face was flushed red from exertion.
He kept shouting while the medical staff around him were sweating profusely with worry.
But fortunately, since he hadn’t eaten much nutritious food during pregnancy, the babies were all quite small. Even with natural birth, he managed to deliver them all.
However, the surviving babies looked very weak compared to my four healthy seahorse babies.

My dad told me that based on his experience, those two babies likely had underlying
health issues.

Since they were his own grandchildren, my dad wanted to do a thorough check–up on the
two babies.
That day, Ryan checked himself and the babies out of the hospital.
Needless to say, he definitely thought the hospital stay was too expensive.
I originally wanted to go back and try to persuade Ryan, since the babies were innocent.
But my parents stopped me.
“Even if you go back to persuade him, it won’t work. He’ll definitely think you have some
ulterior motive.”
My parents had only met Ryan a few times, yet they already understood him so well.
I had to give up on the idea. After being discharged, I focused on my postpartum
recovery.
After my recovery period, I went home.
As soon as I walked in the door, I was shocked by the scene before me.
The house was a complete mess, like it had been ransacked by burglars.
The garbage clearly hadn’t been taken out in a long time, with a foul odor coming from
every corner.
I was about to enter the bedroom when I heard faint crying.
I pushed open the door to see Ryan sitting hopelessly on the bed, with two babies lying
beside him.
Ryan looked like a living corpse at that moment.
Thankfully, the hormones in Ryan’s body hadn’t faded yet, so he’d managed to keep the two babies fairly healthy.

Although they hadn’t gained much weight, they had grown a bit.
I was about to pick up a baby when my hand was suddenly grabbed.
I looked up. “What are you doing, Ryan?”
“You dare to come back.”
Ryan somehow found the strength to stand up. He grabbed a pillow and started hitting
me with it.
“It’s all your fault! If you hadn’t made me get pregnant, how could I have ended up like this? Samantha, I’m going to kill you!”
