Chapter 10
That night, Brant came to make peace again.
He said he’d seen through Selene’s true face and realized everything had been a deception from start to finish.
He said he would treasure me in the future, that I’d be the only one in his eyes.
I just shook my head.
He wouldn’t. Someone who could cheat once could cheat a second time, a third time, countless times.
What’s more, he hadn’t just cheated–he’d even been willing to sacrifice my daughter to please his mistress.
A man like that didn’t deserve my forgiveness.
My heart remained unmoved as I watched Brant cry bitterly before me.
“Vivian, everyone makes mistakes! You can hit me, curse me, punish me however you want, but can’t you show some mercy?”
“We’ve been together eight years, Vivian! We have a beautiful daughter together. How can you bear to leave me? How can you bear to let our daughter grow up without a father?”
I let out a cold laugh and fired back.
“We’ve been together eight years, Brant–you remember that too? Then how could you bear to deceive me with such pathetic lies? How could you bear to steal my child?”
Brant’s crying stopped abruptly.
He seemed to finally understand how much pain I’d felt the moment I discovered the truth.
Brant stood outside my estate gates all night.
When dawn broke and Amy ran happily into the courtyard, he fled like a man possessed.
After that, Brant came frequently. But he didn’t dare face me–he just stood under a tree across the street, secretly watching the estate.
When I noticed, I tried driving him away several times, but it was useless. He just thought my willingness to see him
meant I was ready to forgive.
I could tell Brant’s mental state was deteriorating, but I couldn’t be bothered to engage with him. I just spoke
harshly, driving him away again and again.
Later, friends told me he was making consecutive mistakes in business–not only spacing out during negotiations but also losing his temper with partners.

Chapter 10
Before long, the Miller family assets began shrinking.
Meanwhile, my account received several large transfers. I knew they were all from Brant.
His transfers came with messages telling me not to worry about money and to take good care of Amy.
I didn’t respond. After all, we’d live just fine without his money.
The day after receiving the final large transfer, I heard about the aftermath of Brant and Selene’s drama.
Turns out, Selene had been married all along. Everything that happened was an extortion scheme she’d cooked up
with her husband.
The couple threatened Brant for money, or they’d press charges for imprisonment and assault.
Brant, already isolated because of Selene’s schemes, couldn’t bear being blackmailed by her.
So he chose to take Selene and her husband down with him.
Brant secretly modified his car, hiding a bomb under the seats. Then, under the pretense of taking the couple to get
money, he detonated the bomb while all three were in the vehicle.
The explosion scene was reportedly horrific–in that sea of flames, they didn’t even leave whole bodies behind. The entire ring road was backed up for over 12 hours because of the accident, then closed for a full week. The crash made front–page news across America.
Brant’s funeral, and of course, I didn’t tell Amy the news.
ned for his sins in his own way. I thought this was his best possible ending.
As for me, I deserved to live a better life with my beloved daughter in the future.
