“Marcus, I’ve known you for so many years. I never imagined you could be this stupid!
“If I’d known it would be like this, all the feelings I’ve invested would have been better off thrown to the dogs!”
Marcus sighed on the other end.
“Georgina, don’t say things out of anger. As long as you’re willing to return the car and apologize to me and Lucia, I’ll treat you the same as before.”

I cried out in surprise, “What? Who does she think she is? Why should I apologize to her?”
“Georgina, please stop making trouble, okay? Do you know how embarrassed she was when you suddenly showed up yesterday? If she hadn’t quickly made up that story, the fact that you and I were married would have been exposed. Then she would have been criticized for breaking up someone’s family. Do you know how important reputation is for a celebrity?
“And your behavior yesterday made Morris cry. You need to take responsibility. Be good and come apologize to them.”
Furious, I shouted into the phone, “She’s afraid of being accused of breaking up someone’s family, but it doesn’t matter that I’m being cursed by everyone?”
Marcus continued to defend himself, “You two are different. You’re not a public figure. Nobody will care. You don’t need to show your face in public in the future. I’ll take care of you. But she’s a public figure.”
I was so angry I hung up the phone, shouting repeatedly to release my emotions.
I slapped myself hard across the face.
“Mom, I’m such an idiot! How could I love such a despicable man so deeply!”

Mom held me with concern, “My dear, don’t be like this. It breaks my heart to see you this
way.”
After calming down, I quickly got out of bed to get ready, preparing to go to the company and confront him face to face.
Mom was worried about me. Just as I walked out the door, I saw Henry already waiting beside my car.
“I’ll go with you.”
My mom also urged, “You’re too emotional right now. I’m afraid something might happen. I’ll feel better if Henry goes with you.”
I nodded and told Mom, “Mom, tell Dad he doesn’t need to get involved in this. Marcus isn’t worth it!”
Henry agreed, “That’s right, Auntie. I’ll handle it. Don’t worry.”
With that, we drove my Ferrari directly to Marcus’s company.
After the drive, I had calmed down considerably.
I asked Henry to park the car in a conspicuous spot in the parking lot, then called Marcus.
He came down quickly, his eyes lighting up when he saw my car.
Even though he had earned a lot of money over the years, he still couldn’t bring himself to
buy such an expensive car.
Seeing Henry was also there, Marcus first nodded to him.
I had introduced Henry to Marcus when we first got together.
Henry had been adopted by a wealthy family when he was young, so by the time Marcus
met him, he was already handling his family’s business.
Marcus’s company wouldn’t have reached its current scale without Henry’s unconditional

Marcus then said to me, “This is between us. Why did you have to trouble Mr. Leedon?”
I snorted coldly, “I was afraid you’d throw more dirt on my head. What’s wrong with bringing someone from my side?”
Just then, we heard the sound of a car door closing, followed by a child’s clear voice.
“Daddy!”
My heart skipped a beat. I turned to look and saw it was indeed Lucia and Morris.

But Marcus had told me that Morris was Lucia’s child with another husband after their
divorce. In front of me, Morris always called Marcus “Uncle.”
Could Morris actually be his child with Lucia, born after he married me?
I had been deceived for so many years!
