I never imagined what true love would feel like since I entered the Winslet mansion…to walk into a room and be welcomed with so many hopeful and excited faces.
The entire Stone group was present, the servants encouraged me, their face tinged with wide smile as I walked ahead.
Hundreds of chandeliers sparkled like constellations in the humongous gathering on the island of Italy as soft violin music played in the background. The entire banquet hall was decorated with my favorite flowers of pink lilies and blue orchids.
And all of it… was for me designed by Damien himself as he worked upon it for more than a
month.
“Darling are you ready?” Damien’s voice fluttered as his lips gently brushed against my ear making me laugh softly.
“Yes.”
He looked like sin in a black velvet suit. Dark hair slicked back and his electrifying blue eyes trained only on me.
I nodded, my breath catching as he clasped my hand gently pressing a kiss to it.
‘Lets enter a new phase of our life darling.” The giant mahogany doors opened and we walked out with a serene smile.
Applause thundered as soon as we appeared, our friends and close one cheering us from all
direction.
At that moment flower petals rained from the helicopter making me laugh.
The announcer’s voice echoed across the grand hall:
‘Introducing Mr. Damien Stone- the master of Stone Enterprises and his bride–to–be Miss. Lavina Stone”
Stone
had changed my name after the divorce. Quietly so that I would no longer be associated with either Hamiltons or Winslets.
But to remind myself that I was free.
Damien led me to the center of the ballroom where two of small children were standing with a flower basket inside which our engagement rings rested.
Damien looked at me with eyes full of love.
‘Lavina, once I was powerless and could only watch you love people who never truly understood your kindness and took you for granted.” His thumb brushed the edge of my knuckle. “I thought that without you life was meaningless so I was ready to wither away but let me tell you something I never said.
At the age of ten I was kidnapped and taken to the countryside by my father’s enemies who pretended to be my uncles.
While everybody was too busy to mind, It was you…. a small child then who thought something

was wrong with me because I refused to eat your grandma’s steamed buns, it was you who informed who ran more than five miles to the place I hurridely scribbled down a paper to seek help that I could be rescued by my father…. You are my savior Lavina…you are my angel….from the very first day I have loved you Lavina.”
A hush fell over the room and without my knowledge tears trailed down my eyes.
“You…It was you?”
“Yes, we are destined since the very beginning”
Then he lowered himself onto one knee.
Gasps rippled.
“Lavina” his voice faltered for the first time, “let me love you for every day that I have left in this life.”
My knees almost gave out.
He opened the velvet box.
Inside was a ring that wasn’t new…it was rather so beautiful that it took my breath away. A sapphire so deep it almost looked like night with bright diamonds encircling it.
“It was my gradmother’s gift for her granddaughter. Please accept it.”
I nodded, choking a sob.
“Yes!” I whispered. “Yes. A thousand times, yes!” I didn’t even realize I was crying until he slid the ring onto my finger.
The room erupted in cheers as women cried.
“How lovely, they are destined!”
‘What a beautiful couple, they look as if blessed by fate.”
At that moment Damien pulled me close and we shared a kiss under the moonlight with thousands of coulourful fireworks erupting around us.
