But he clearly knew that Seraphina had Kane’s backing, and no matter how much he valued Aria, she wouldn’t fare well remaining at Silverstone Medical Center.

Aria smiled knowingly. “Thank you for your understanding, Director.”
She returned to her office, and as soon as she walked in, she saw Seraphina waiting for her. She wasn’t surprised.
“Did Ms. Cross need something?”
“Dr. Ashworth, what does that surveillance
video mean?”
Facing Seraphina’s sharp questioning, Aria smiled. “Finally willing to drop the innocent act?”
Seraphina gritted her teeth but maintained her smile. “Dr. Ashworth, I didn’t expect you to be so persistent over such a small matter.”
“I was simply proving my innocence. I hadn’t done anything wrong–why should I accept blame because of you?” Aria turned to face her directly. “Just because you have Alpha Kane’s protection?”
Mentioning Kane, Seraphina’s smile turned cold, with a hint of provocation in her expression. “I knew it here’s something between you and Kane During the years I was away, Kane wasn’t supporting you, was he?”
Her sarcasm made Aria’s expression darken
Sering this reaction, Seraphina became even more convinced of her suspicions. “Txactly! But it’s a pity–I’ve returned now.”
“You saw it yourself–in front of me,
Kane didn’t even acknowledge you. And you dare to think you can trap him with your body? How ridiculous”
“He loved me for ten years. Can your fleeting attraction compare with the decade of feelings between us?”
Ten years…
Aria’s face went completely pale.
Had Kane loved Seraphina for ten years?
Then what about the companionship she had provided when they were young–what did that mean to him?
