“Ending the bond?
Charlie stood still, surprised. “How twild be? Is it because of me?”
“No!” Helen walked to his side, cutting him off. “Their potential separation wasn’t because of you, Charlie. Don’t overthink it.”
She understood her son’s impulsive nature.
If he learned the real reason why Aria Kane might sover their bond, he would probably confront that “other woman” by Kane’s side.
The Ashworth Park wouldn’t get good results from provoking Kane!
She didn’t want to abandon her daughter completely. It’s just…
The Ravencrest Pack represented their only chance for the Ashworth Pack to improve their pack hierarchy.
She only blamed herself for not having a strong enough pack background to support her daughter properly.
“Yes, it’s your sister who doesn’t appreciate her good fate. She should be grateful to have bonded into the Ravencrest Pack, but instead she chooses to create conflicts with Alpha Kane.” Gabriel continued criticizing Aria, as if this daughter only knew how to embarrass them and didn’t understand their good intentions.
Charlie lowered his gaze, uncertain what he was thinking.
On the other side, Aria had been in the operating room since 8 o’clock in the morning. The craniotomy wasn’t completed until the afternoon.
She walked to the changing room to remove her surgical scrubs, opened her locker to retrieve her phone, and saw several missed calls on the screen
Several were from Charlie, and one was from Kane
She frowned, only returning Charlie’s call as she left the changing room.
“Aria! Dad said you’re severing the mating bond from Kane. Is it true?”
Charlie’s urgent voice came through the phone. “Did Alpha Kane do something to hurt you?”
“No.” Aria rubbed her sore shoulder and explained calmly. “Its just that we don’t see eye to eye, so I want to leave.”
Charlie
was impulsive and didn’t consider consequences–it was better not to let him know the full truth.
“Aria, if you want to leave, then leave. Although our parents always say that the Ravencrest Pack accepting you shows respect for our Ashworth Pack, I’ve always felt they were deceiving themselves…”
“We were the ones trying to climb up to their level, but they never respected us in the first place. It’s actually better that this bonding ends!”
