Kane entered the bedroom where Aria was resting, unfortunately catching her taking medication.
Aria hadn’t expected him to suddenly appear, and she quickly tried to hide the bottle.
Kane strode forward and grabbed her wrist, his amber eyes sharp. “What are you hiding?”
She pulled back, hissing in pain. “Let go of me.”
“Did you drug me?”
His question tore her heart to pieces, and she forced a bitter laugh. “Kane, do you suspect that I drugged you? Am I a masochist? Would I want you to treat me like that?”
Kane actually had his suspicions confirmed.
He didn’t truly doubt that Aria had administered the drug, but…
He didn’t like her defiant attitude.
“Who knows? Maybe you were plotting to carry my heir?”
His indifferent and casual accusation was the most hurtful thing he could have said.
Aria finally opened her palm, revealing the bottle of emergency contraceptives. “Unfortunately, I won’t be carrying your pup.”
When Kane saw the word “contraceptive,” his eyes turned an abnormal shade of crimson, his grip tightening as he spoke slowly. “You’re ruthless enough.”
He released her and slammed the door as he left, his wolf howling.
Selena hid beside the stairs, watching Kane leave with a dark expression, feeling secretly pleased.

Eleanor had Margaret prepare coffee and fingered her prayer beads thoughtfully. “Are you truly certain out severing your mating bond with Kane?”
