Seraphina’s expression froze again.
The crowd looked at each other uncertainly. After all, Aria’s logic made sense. If there really was an affair, there was no reason they wouldn’t have each other’s private contact information.
Could they have been conducting their relationship openly within the hospital?
Wouldn’t that have been discovered much earlier?
Why wait until now?
Mrs. Thorne had no idea that after accepting the bribe, she would be responsible for cooperating with her mate in staging this “catching the cheaters” scene. She hadn’t prepared for these details. Seeing that the plan was about to fall apart, she gritted her teeth and nudged Lucas with her elbow.
Lucas attempted to salvage the situation when Marcus’s voice came from behind the crowd. “What’s happening here? Why is everyone gathered like this?”
The onlookers dispersed slightly as everyone turned to look.

Marcus surveyed everyone present and spoke again. “Why is everyone so quiet? What are you all doing here?”

She whispered in a voice only the two of them could hear, “Aria, you don’t want to make a big scene and put the director in a difficult position, do you?”

Marcus looked between Seraphina and Aria, with Kane’s intimidating presence filling the space. He didn’t want to say much, so he turned to Kane. “Alpha Ravencrest, I’ll return to my office now.”
Kane nodded slightly, his amber eyes scanning the crowd with predatory assessment.
After Marcus left, Seraphina signaled to the Thorne couple with her eyes.
The couple immediately understood. Mrs/Thorne stepped forward and grabbed Aria, ignoring her resistance. “We haven’t resolved our issues yet. Come on, let’s go outside and settle this!”
