Martin’s voice felt like a dull hum, buzzing in Gregory’s mind, almost as if it were going to puncture his skull
Gregory’s grip slackened, and the phone slipped from his hand.
“Mr. Sinclair!” Jenny saw what happened and quickly caught the phone. “What happened?”
But Gregory didn’t answer. He snatched the phone from her hand and strode straight for the stairs.
Cyrus, seeing the urgency in Gregory’s movements, was confused le’d never seen Gregory so frantic, almost as if he were chasing something.
In the garage, Dexter had just parked the car when he spotted Gregory walking toward him. Gregory’s face was stormy, like a thunderstorm with gale–force winds, as though everything in his path could be torn apart.
Gregory was in a foul mood.
Dexter immediately felt a chill run down his spine. He stammered to greet Gregory, but before he could even open his mouth, the latter snatched the keys from his hand. Gregory then marched straight to the car and slammed the door shut.
Dexter quickly backed away, pressing himself against the wall.
The next moment, the Rolls–Royce that had just entered the garage shot out like an arrow. It made a sharp turn, leaving a deep tire mark across the freshly manicured lawn.
Watching the car disappear down the road, Dexter nervously swallowed. He noticed Jenny and Cyrus chasing after him from the villa and asked, “What’s going on with Mr. Sinclair?”
Cyrus shook his head. He had no idea, but from Gregory’s expression, it was clear that something was seriously wrong.
Jenny fell silent. She’d faintly overheard Martin on the phone mentioning the divorce agreement.
Was that why Gregory lost control? Because Anathea was divorcing him?
When Anathea had thanked her that night, had it been her way of saying goodbye?
Jenny hadn’t even realized it then.
Her eyes slowly began to fill with teas
The Rolls–Royce roared down the road, speeding past car after car. Yet, Gregory still felt like it wasn’t fast enough. He pressed the gas pedal harder, barely missing a car on his side.
Startled, the other vehicle’s driver rolled down his window and shouted angrily, “Hey! Are you crazy? Just because you have money, you think you can do whatever you want?”
Gregory’s grip on the wheel tightened. Yes, he felt like he was going crazy right now.
Anathea had actually left and left him with a divorce agreement. She was going to divorce him! How could she?
The traffic light ahead turned red, and Gregory slammed on the brakes. He jolted forward, nearly hitting the steering wheel
“Damn it!” Gregory pounded the steering wheel to vent his fury.
He glared at the countdown on the traffic light. At the last second, he floored the gas pedal, launching the car forward with a deafening roar that shook the entire street.
At Sinclair Group, the valet saw Gregory’s car approaching from a distance and rushed to meet it.
Gregory slammed the car door shut and marched straight into the building.

Employees along the way greeted liim, but he didn’t spare them a glance. He headed straight for the CEO’s office.
Everyone could feel the heavy pressure coming off Gregory, but they simply assumed he was stressed about the upcoming annual review meeting.
Little did they know, Gregory, the seasoned businessman, couldn’t care less about such meetings. There was only one thing that could affect him—a woman named Anathea Jacobson.
Gregory shoved the office door open with force.
Martin was surprised to see Gregory arrive so quickly, but he quickly snapped out of it and handed the divorce agreement to
Gregory.
Gregory snatched the paper. It was just a single sheet, but at that moment, it felt unbearably heavy in his hands.
And sure enough, Anathea’s signature was there.
Each stroke seemed to scream that she didn’t want to
