Anathea was surprised herself. Before she’d found out about the pregnancy, her morning sickness had been unbearable, but now that she knew, it had gradually faded. And after she’d left Castenea, it had almost disappeared completely.
When she was pregnant with Xander, she’d been violently sick. It was so bad that she’d ended up in the hospital multiple times. Toward the end of the pregnancy, it felt like her body was being torn apart by the chaos inside her.
So, after seven months of carrying Xander, Anathea had been mostly confined to bed since she couldn’t move around much. This baby, however, was far calmer. That was why Anathea guessed that it was a girl.
Hannah thought so too because she’d experienced something similar when she’d been pregnant with Chloe.
“Looks like she’s looking out for her mom.” Hannah smiled as she glanced at Anathea’s belly.
After a brief pause, she leaned in closer to Anathea and asked, “She’s such a sweet little angel. Are your really going to give her up?”
Even though Hannah tried to sound casual, Anathea could tell exactly what was happening. “Did my mom send you here to talk me into it?”
Caught, Hannah didn’t try to deny it. She nodded. “Yeah. Mrs. Jacobson doesn’t want to see you alone, and she thinks this baby is destined to be with you.”
Anathea knew exactly what Fiona hoped for. She wanted Anathea to have someone to lean on and hoped that having a child would heal her and help her move forward.
“But…” A hint of hesitation flashed in Anathea’s eyes, but she still voiced her concerns. “I’m afraid of repeating the same mistake.”
She was afraid that this child would end up like Xander. It would just break her heart then.
“That’s not right, Thea.” Hannah immediately shook her head. “Xander was influenced too much by the Sinclair family. “Maybe your mother–in–law was constantly sowing discord between you and him, which is why he’s so distant. If you’d been the one raising him from the start, things would have turned out completely different!”
Anathea understood what Hannah said. Back then, she lacked the courage and strength to resist because she still loved Gregory. So, she could only submit to Eleanor’s arrangements.
But now, although her power was limited, she no longer had any feelings for Gregory. So, she would no longer choose to swallow her anger in silence when faced with unfair treatment.
Plus, she’d left Castenea and the suffocating Sinclair family. She was embracing a new life now.
Maybe this baby was a gift from God for her fresh start.
Anathea pressed her lips together. A flicker of reluctance and hesitation flashed in her eyes.
After all, keeping the baby would mean making more plans. It wasn’t something she could decide impulsively simply because she felt attached. There were other things to consider.

Noticing her struggle, Hannah gave her a reassuring pat on the shoulder. “Don’t worry. I’ll arrange for the doctor to create a comprehensive recovery plan for Mrs. Jacobson. Just focus on doing what you want to do, and leave the rest to m need to worry.”
Anathea froze for a moment. As she stared at Hannah, her nose tingled with emotion. “Hannah, you’re too good to me.”
She feared she could never repay Hannah for everything.
But for Hannah, it didn’t even compare to the kindness Anathea had shown her in the past.

“Oh, you can even be her mother.” Anathea smiled through her tears.
Hannah grinned, and the two of them walked down the street artan arm. The weight of the world suddenly felt just a little bit lighter.
