Chapter 92
Venus POV
“I’m sure,” I said firmly. “You’ve been through a lot, but I believe in second chances.”
She hesitated, then nodded. “Thank you, Luna Venus. I won’t disappoint you.”
I took a seat across from her, leaning forward slightly. “Elena, about the fox shifters and witches… do you know anything else about them? Something that might help us prepare?”
Her face darkened. “The witches–they’re dangerous. They use magic that twists minds, makes people do foxes… they’re clever, always hiding their true intentions. Together, they’re almost unstoppable.”
things they wouldn’t normally do. And the
doorway, his expression serious. “Luna Venus, Aaron needs you in the meeting room. Now.”
Before I could ask more, Nathan appeared in
I stood, my heart already sinking. “What’s wrong?”
“We’ve received news of an attack on a neighboring pack,” Nathan said grimly. “Survivors are saying it’s the fox shifters… and witches.”
My stomach churned as I followed him out of the kitchen. Whatever peace we’d had was short–lived.
The tension in the meeting room was thick as Nathan and I arrived. Aaron sat at the head of the table, his arms crossed, his sharp eyes scanning a map spread before him. Other pack leaders and warriors were already seated, their worried faces showing the seriousness of the situation. I exchanged a quick look with Aaron, then moved to sit beside him.
Nathan cleared his throat. “The news is clear. The fox shifters and rogue witches are attacking in coordination. We’ve already seen what they’re capable of. If they target us next, we’ll need to be prepared.”
Aaron nodded, his expression unreadable.

I interjected as I looked at the map that showed the pack territories. “We can’t fight this alone. Aaron, you’ve been pushing for alliances. What do you suggest?”
He leaned forward, pointing to the map. “Our closest allies are the Silver Fang pack to the west and the Moon Valley pack to the south. We need to reach out to them immediately. If the fox shifters and witches come for us, a united front is our best chance.”
One of the older warriors, Maxon, grumbled from the corner. “Allies are fine, but it’s hard to trust anyone these days. How do we know they won’t turn on us when things get tough?”
I shot him a firm look. “We’ve fought beside them before. They have no reason to betray us. Besides, if we don’t stand together, none of us stand a
chance.”
Nathan nodded in agreement. “Luna is right. I’ll start drafting messages to the packs. We’ll need to move fast.”
Aaron, still studying the map, added, “There’s another resource we can tap into–Queen Ketari of the witches. She’s helped us before in dealing with rogue witches. If we can convince her to side with us, it could make all the difference.”
The room fell silent at the mention of Ketari. She had helped us in dealing with the Infinity coven with which Gaia and Vicky were associated with. Till now, we hadn’t come to know who was leading that coven. We had heard how Ketari had dealt with them, but over the last few years, things had gone bad further. The Queen of the Witches was a powerful ally, but her help always came with a price.
“Should we call her?” I asked Aaron.
“Yes, that would be best, and I will call her now.”
Aaron took his phone out to make the call and put it on speaker for all of us to listen. He dialed the enchanted number, and the connection hummed with a strange energy. After a moment, a smooth voice answered.

-Aaron, Alpha of Oak Pride. To what do I owe this call?” Queen Retari’s voice was calm but cariled in una pranie pripit
“Queen Ketari,” Aaron began, his tone respectful. “We have a problem. A group of fox shifters has allied with rogue witches and tractada neighboring packs. We feel they may come for us next.”
There was a pause, and then ketari replied, “You already know, Alpha Aaron, the menace of rogue witches is getting out of hand. Even we off with them. They’ve chosen to abandon our ways. I am more concerned about my people.”
Aaron leaned against the table, frustration flickering in his eyes. “I understand that, but this alliance could threaten everyone, including your kingdom. we stand together, we can stop them before it’s too late.”
Ketari’s tone softened slightly. “I admire your resolve, Alpha. Very well. I’ll send some of my best trackers to investigate the rogue witches and gather information. But remember, this is a delicate situation. My help will not come without conditions.”
Aaron nodded, even though she couldn’t see him. “Understood. Thank you, Queen Ketari.”
As he hung up, I placed a hand on his arm. “Do you think she’ll really help us?”
“She’ll help,” Aaron replied, his voice low. “But we’ll need to watch our backs. Ketari doesn’t do anything for free. I’m expecting that she will soon contact us with her conditions.”
The next two weeks were a whirlwind of activity. Aaron threw himself into preparing the pack, training warriors, and coordinating with our allies. I immersed myself in Luna duties–ensuring the pack’s morale stayed high, overseeing the children’s education, and mediating disputes. There wasn’t a moment to breathe, and every night Aaron and I collapsed into bed, exhausted but determined. The fox shifters and witches stayed away from our pack,

A month later, something unexpected happened.
We were sitting in the main hall with Nathan and Ginger when Eric arrived. He wasn’t alone. He walked in with Nicole by his side, his arm protectively wrapped around her. She looked pale, her usual spark dulled.
Aaron and I hurried to meet them. “Eric, Nicole,” I said, my concern evident. “What’s going on?”
Eric helped Nicole into a chair and sighed. “Nicole hasn’t been feeling well. She’s tired all the time, and she’s been having headaches. I thought bringing her back to the pack might help.”
Nicole gave a weak smile. “I’m fine, really. Eric’s just being overprotective.”
“Nothing doing,” Eric said, his voice laced with anxiety. “You will not attend classes until you are well.”
As I looked at her, I could tell something was off. “We’ll have the healer check on you,” I said gently. “It’s good that you’re back.”
“I’m so sorry to be a burden on you,” Nicole said in a low voice.
I sat down next to her. “Never say that again, Nic,” I said as I took her hands in mine. “You’re precious to all of us.”
Nicole looked at me with tears in her eyes. “I’ve never had such a beautiful family since my father died. So-”
I placed a finger on her lips. “If you say one more word, I’ll ensure that you marry Eric by the next full moon!”
She blushed heavily, and we all laughed.
As the days passed, Nicole started to recover, though she still seemed quieter than before. Eric rarely left her side, his protective instincts on full display. But his attention didn’t go unnoticed.
However, there was something weird happening. Elena had settled into her role managing the household, but she began showing an unusual interest in Eric. Or was I imagining?
