She linked her arm with Kane’s, “Selena, you must have misunderstood Alpha Sterling and Dr. Ashworth.”
Selena clicked her tongue, unwilling to admit her own mistakes, but instead mocked Aria, “Some people, they don’t even know their own worth. They think just by being with some man, they can make my
cousin care. But in fact, my cousin wouldn’t care about someone like her at all!”
Seraphina glanced secretly at Kane.
Seeing Kane indifferent, she finally showed a satisfied expression.
Aria didn’t get angry but laughed instead, “What a coincidence, I don’t care about people like both of you
either.” She turned her head, “Rowan, let’s go.”
Rowan smiled slightly and left with Aria.
Passing by Kane’s side, Aria did not stop for a moment, treating them as if they were nothing.
Kane remained silent throughout, looking casual on the surface, but his hand hanging by his side involuntarily clenched tight.
Selena hesitated for a moment.
-She quickly came to her senses and said, “Kane, what’s going on with Aria? She used to be…”
“Have you had enough?” Kane couldn’t bear it any longer and spoke with a fierce look in his eyes.
Selena’s felt a jolt of fear, but after getting shut down by both of them one right after the other, she was seething inside, “Cousin! What’s wrong with you! Seraphina is still next to you, how could you-”
Confronted with the Alpha’s chillingly lethal gaze, Selena choked up and forcibly held back the unfinished words in the second half of her sentence.
Seraphina noticed it and carefully held Kane’s hand, “Kane, don’t blame Selena, she didn’t mean to.”

Kane withdrew his hand, with not a single thought of staying for dinner left, and turned to leave.
“Cousin!”
“Kane!”
Watching the elevator doors close, Selena and Seraphina both stood still in their tracks. The former looked puzzled, while the latter had a fierce look in her eyes, with hatred almost emanating from them.
Aria said goodbye to Rowan in the parking lot, watching him leave as she got back into her own car. The door was just opened when the man behind her reached out and pressed against it, while his other hand embraced her waist, turning her around to face him.
