In the evening, Javier personally escorted Aria back to the apartments. Before Aria got off the car, he suddenly spoke, “Are you free after eight o’clock tonight?”
Aria stopped outside the door, puzzled, “What’s wrong?”
“I had a dinner party in the evening, just arrived in Boston not long ago and not familiar with anyone else, wondering if you would be my companion
Javier looked at her and added kindly, “I can pay extra.”
Aria agreed without hesitation.
Javier smiled without saying a word.
She suddenly said seriously, “You don’t need to pay, for old Luna Stafford’s sake, I will be your companion for free.”
She was given one hundred thousand in a day.
Enough is enough. She was not greedy.
Javier’s eyes flashed with a hint of surprise, suddenly, he smiled and said, “Then I’ll come pick you up later.”
After he left, Aria went home and took a shower. Opening the drawer, she saw a cabinet full of cosmetics, and she was lost in thought for a long time. She had forgotten that she used to be a girl who loved beauty, and it had been a long time since she had dressed up properly.
She looked at herself in the mirror, as if she could see the self from six years ago, who was humble and begging for love, always trying to please Kane.
At that moment, she decided to reconcile with the past and with herself.
The night was dark, and the street lights were bright. Javier leaned against the car and waited for a moment, the woman who was slowly approaching in front of him caught his eye. She was wearing a Chanel V–neck velvet vintage red dress, stepping in a pair of high–heeled sandals, her long hair fluffy and slightly curled, spreading out from her shoulders.
She belonged to the type that heavy makeup made look overdone, while her face was lightly made up, with red lipstick highlighting her features and adding a touch of elegance.
Javier looked at her with admiration in his eyes, “This outfit suits you very well.”
“Thank you,” Aria responded with a smile.
Aria didn’t know much about tonight’s banquet, only knew that it was a charity event organized by a company executive, and assumed that there wouldn’t be too many people.
In fact, the party was held at Fang & Claw Nightclub.
It was the most famous and luxurious hotel in this ferritory. And this event almost invited all the high–level pack members.
