Chapter 10
The moment the door opened, Kinsley threw herself excitedly at Mason, nuzzling contentedly against his chest. “Mason, I knew you’d come see me. I knew you wouldn’t abandon me.”
Despite her affection, Mason felt utterly disgusted and pushed her away. “Let me ask you–what’s the real story with the blood on the dress? Was our first child really aborted intentionally by Aria’s
mother? Did she deliberately remove your fallopian tube?”
Kinsley met his eyes and, though noticing something unusual about his demeanor, didn’t think much of it. She assumed Mason was simply concerned for her.
“Yes, I heard everything when they put me under anesthesia. I heard Aria’s mother telling her colleague that if I kept my fertility, you would keep loving me instead of going back to Aria.”
She continued dramatically, “She said for her daughter’s sake, she needed to eliminate any future threat. And that dress Aria gave me… I’m not sure if it was them, but that’s how it looked when I
opened it.”
This was exactly how Kinsley had been falsely accusing us all along, and Mason finally saw the truth.
Suppressing his rage, he asked, “Then why didn’t you report Aria’s mother?”
“I did it for you and Aria’s sake,” she replied, her voice growing increasingly choked as she wiped away tears. “I just had to swallow my pain.”
Unable to contain himself any longer, Mason gritted his teeth and slapped her across the face.
“You’re full of shit!”
Startled by his sudden outburst, Kinsley froze as Mason threw the surveillance footage he’d copied onto his computer at her. “See for yourself,” he said, his voice frighteningly cold.
After watching the evidence, Kinsley trembled too much to speak while Mason continued, “Kinsley, I
know everything now. You’ve been framing Aria and her mother this whole time. Fine. You claim to
be an orphan? I’m taking back every asset I’ve given you. I’ll make sure you truly become nothing.”
Falling to her knees and clutching desperately at Mason’s pants, Kinsley sobbed, “Mason, you can’t
do this. Didn’t you promise to give me a family? And our baby–I only did those things for our child. I
was afraid our baby wouldn’t be accepted.”

Chapter 10
“I was scared people would call our child illegitimate and look down on us. I just wanted you to divorce Aria so we could have a complete family. That’s all.”
With tears streaming down her face, she added, “I made mistakes, but it was all because I love you! So, I was willing to take so many injections and medications just to have your baby.”
She thought these words would soften Mason’s heart, but instead, his eyes grew even colder as he
kicked her away.
“You dare mention children to me? Because of your child, Aria and I lost ours.”
Without hesitation, he grabbed Kinsley and declared, “Come on. We’re going to the hospital for an
abortion.”
Despite her desperate pleas, Mason remained resolute–just as he had been the day he took me to the hospital.
After terminating the pregnancy, he brought Kinsley straight to my doorstep without a moment’s
delay.
Meanwhile, I was just about to get in the car for the airport.
Before getting married, my dream had always been to become a renowned fashion designer whose
work would be seen by people worldwide.
After marriage, however, I couldn’t even hold onto that dream.
So the day I returned from Mason’s house, I submitted my resume and several of my best design sketches to the recruitment website of M&E, the famous fashion design company.
I figured that even though I was only now finally waking up, it wasn’t too late.
Fortunately, I passed the selection process just days later and became part of the M&E team.
Now I was headed to our partner company in the neighboring state to help design haute couture pieces for the next model exhibition.
I had just started walking when I came face–to–face with the last person on earth I wanted to see.
