  1. New Tenants

Curled up in a warm blanket, Sibyl blushed and smiled like a high school girl as she read Keshton’s message Good morning, I will be there to pick you up in an hour.” For the past three days, she had woken up to one of his lovely messages, always ending with him telling her he was coming to see her. No matter how much she wanted to take it lightly, it played with her heart. It was as if they were dating. Sibyl shyly buried her face in her pillow. Since she had not responded to his confession the thing between them could not be called dating but Keshton had been treating her more like his girlfriend. Sibyl got off the bed and stepped into the shower. She didn’t know how or when it started, but he would pick her up and drop her off at home daily. She had asked him not to postpone his business affairs because of her, but he never listened. Sometimes he would even show up during her lunch break, taking her for a meal and a walk where they talked about alot of things that they had never done. No matter how busy he was, he would always show up, as if he didn’t want her to be alone. Sometimes, she felt as if he was protecting her, even though she believed she wasn’t in danger. Could it be this protectiveness came from his position as an Alpha or bloodline? However, the feeling of being protected and the sense of security that Keshton gave her was something Sibyl had never experienced before in her whole life. From the day she held Keshton’s hand and took the first step towards him, it was as if she had started a new life with Keshton. She wasn’t as restless as she had been that day. While getting dressed, she checked her phone hoping Kaha called or messaged her but there was nothing. Two days ago she had gone to visit Kaha at her address but her house had been locked and she was not home. Sibyl left her phone number on a note on her door but she never called. For some reason she did not have a good feeling about Katha’s sudden disappearance. But she also realized that maybe she was working somewhere else so all Sibyl did was wait for Kaha to contact her. Thinking about Kaha, Sibyl got dressed and did her hair, she remembered to take the trash out. She paused while locking her door, her eyes spotting a group of males moving into the apartment next to hers. Their strong, manly scents made it clear they were werewolves. Recently, there had been a lot of new tenants replacing the old ones, which worried Sibyl. She had actually chosen this place because there were rarely any werewolves. But the new tenants in the neighboring apartments were mostly werewolves, and that unsettled her. Also, if the landlord asked her to vacate the apartment, she would face difficulty finding a new place. She did not wish to move out anytime soon since

o leave for she loved living among humans, away from werewolves for her own safety. It seems I will ha the mountains during my heat, she murmured and returned home after taking the trash out. She made herself an omelet, which she finished with bread and coffee while stealing glances at the clock from time to time. Suddenly, she realized that even though she always asked him not to pick her up or drop her off, she loved that he came to get her again and again. An unknown feeling rose in her heart, as she stared at the

bread and eggs on the kitchen counter, lost in thought. Dressed in a navy blue suit, Keshton leaned against his car, his phone in hand. He had been messaging about his late arrival to the Alpha meeting that he was supposed to attend in half an hour. His expression was serious as his fingers flew across the keyboard until a familiar sweet scent entered his nose. His nerves and wolf instantly calmed as if a bucket of ice had been poured on a fire. He tore his eyes from his phone and lifted his head to see Sibyl coming out of the building. Dressed in a white blouse and a black kneelength skirt, she looked exceptionally beautiful, even though he had seen her in that outfit many times. Sibyl raised her eyes to meet Keshton’s as she approached. He seemed to slowly devour her with his eyes, taking his time to enjoy every bit. Their gazes locked as he continued to stare at her without saying a thing, Sibyl’s wolf felt seduced by his. Her steps slowed, the buried desire of being touched by him rapidly being fanned by her wolf. Sibyl quickly got her wolf back in check before she got aroused and found herself in an embarrassing situation. Good morning, Keshton finally said

his voice a low, husky whisper that added fuel to an already seduced Zara. Good morning, she replied, her own voice barely above a whisper, betraying her self control. Keshton pushed off from the car and approached her, his over six foot figure towering over her as he softly pecked her lips. You look stunning, as always,he whispered. Sibyl’s cheeks flushed a delicate pink. II am going to be late! Let’s go!She quickly got into the car. Keshton chuckled. She still refused to let him see her blush or always hid her shy face
