Chapter 25
Dorothy looked up in confusion. “Mr. Lambert, how may I help?“]
Dwayne said unhurriedly, “Did you check the news today?“]
“What news?”
She was even more baffled.]
Staring at her for a few seconds, he replied, his gaze obscure, “Nothing.“]
Then he turned to leave.
Watching him go away, she suddenly thought about Rogelio’s detention and caught up with him. “Mr. Lambert.“]
Dwayne stopped in his tracks and turned back to look at her, his gaze indifferent. “What?“]
His cold attitude stung Dorothy’s heart.
He could come here and talk to her when he felt like it, but she wasn’t allowed to approach him at all. How was that fair?]
She pursed her lips. “Thank you for finding lawyers for Rogelio. As for your expectations of me, I’ll soon send you the divorce…“[]
She wanted to say she’d send him the divorce papers for him to sign soon.
Yet, a brisk female voice interrupted her, “Dwayne!”
Sonia hurried over to him. As her gaze fell upon Dorothy, the smile on her face faded, and she quickly linked arms with Dwayne. Dwayne, you’re here. Why didn’t you tell me?“[]
Sonia was implying Dwayne was hers.
Clearly catching her drift, Dorothy smiled coldly.[]
She was so curious–how would Sonia react if she knew the man next to her was someone else’s husband?]
Before Dwayne could say anything, Sonia looked at Dorothy and said with a warm smile, “Dr. Acosta, didn’t you tell me you weren’t close to Dwayne? It seems to me that you know each other pretty well. I was thinking of introducing him to you.“[]
It sounded like she was recommending Dorothy to Dwayne, the big shot.
Dwayne was the eldest son of the Lambert family in Dewbury, the ruler of the Lambert Group.
He had everything, both connections and wealth included.
Also, he was a shareholder here, funding research projects of the hospital and even donating a few sets of latest imported equipment
under the guise of charity.
