The corner of Joseph’s lips curled into a slight smile. “You’ve got a sharp memory, but you didn’t recognize my voice the other day when we bumped into each other. Was this rudeness of yours due to your blindness?” His comment brought up the memory of Sibyl bumping into a stranger on her way to work one morning days ago. That day, she indeed found the encounter odd but was too distracted by the loss of her sandwich and her smashed glasses. She had dismissed it as insignificant. Additionally, the person had hidden his scent, so there was no way she could have recognized Joseph’s voice, which she believed belonged to someone long dead. She glared bitterly at Joseph. “You bumped into me that day intentionally, hid your identity, then we met at this Alpha ball. It’s too dirty to be a coincidence! And now you’ve kidnapped me! What do think
you you’re doing?” Sibyl demanded, her voice grave. Joseph’s gaze flickered with a chilling coldness as he spoke. “Is that the tone you use while addressing your Alpha?” A wave of shivers ran down Sibyl’s spine. Just like in the past, this man’s aura was as malicious as a poisonous snake, capable of devouring one whole without spitting out the bones. Even after all these years, nothing seemed to have changed, including his effect on her wolf, which set off waves of alarms in her heart with his mere presence. Joseph inclined slightly, revealing his brown wolf eyes fully in the dim light as he locked eyes with Sibyl. “Or could it be that you don’t want to keep your tongue anymore?” Even if he was in his human form, he had an eighty percent tendency towards leaning into his animal nature. He enjoyed feasting on raw flesh and bones in his wolf form every day, something Sibyl was well aware of. The stare that could even scare the Devil, how could it spare Sibyl? Barely controlling her fear, she forced herself to speak. “What do you want from me?” Given the elaborate trap he had set in order to approach her, his motives were clearly not just to have a casual conversation but were full of ill intentions. He seemed a lot more frightening than he had been years ago. Joseph circled a finger around the rim of the glass as he spoke softly. “I heard you are Keshton’s bitch.” Sibyl stared at him, stunned. How did Keshton come into the picture? Moreover, the way he said his name suggested he knew Keshton well. Joseph read her mind as if it were an open book and smiled. “I was Keshton’s childhood friend.” The revelation left Sibyl silent for a long time. Her ex–Alpha was friends with Keshton? How had things turned out this way? But he said ‘he was‘. That meant he was no longer. After a moment of thought, when she linked all the little pieces together, she found her answer. “Don’t tell me you’re using me to get back at Keshton!” ” Bingo,” Joseph grinned. Sibyl glared at him bitterly. “He and I ended things a week ago. Now we are complete strangers. There is no way you can get back at him using me!” she spat aggressively. “Is that so?” Joseph sighed in disappointment. “Yes, so now let me go…” “Then he will have to die,” Joseph remarked, stunning Sibyl. “What?” she stared at him with eyes full of shock. Joseph looked past her without saying a word. With a bad feeling rising in her head, Sibyl slowly turned to follow his line of sight and saw a tempered mirror placed on the table. At a glance, its abnormality was evident because it displayed a view. It looked like a hotel room. A woman clad in black and gold could be seen. Even though only her back was visible, Sibyl recognized it right away. It was that female Alpha she had seen with Keshton! But once the female Alpha turned around and her face came into Sibyl’s view, Sibyl almost shouted. “Daisy!” Her jaw dropped wide open in disbelief. That female Alpha was actually Daisy, but due to the blind spell, she hadn’t been able to recognize her before. But what was Daisy doing there? What was going on? As Sibyl asked herself these questions, she was struck by the sight of Keshton coming from out of the bathroom. With a white towel wrapped around his waist, he had just exited the shower. Eying his eight–pack abs, Daisy walked over to him, swaying her hips seductively. “Would you like to have a drink or eat me first?” she purred, her hand sliding down from his abs to rest on his c**k. Sibyl’s mind went blank at the sight of another woman touching Keshton. Her blood started to boil with rage, and all she wanted to do was rip Daisy to pieces for laying her

hands on her man. But then she saw Keshton slipping Daisy’s sleeves from her shoulders. Holding her breath, she hoped his hand had accidentally slipped, and he did not wish to touch her until she watched Keshton
ripping off Daisy’s dress. Daisy’s breasts bounced free, revealed to Keshton’s eyes. Sibyl’s heart pounded in her chest, her vision blurring with the flood of emotions. Her whole body went numb as her heart shattered.
Keshton was a willing part of that transaction. Tears welled up in her eyes, and she felt as if a thousand knives were stabbing her. The man she loved was with another woman right in front of her eyes, but for the first time in her life she didn’t feel betrayed. They had ended things a week ago. They were nothing to each other now, and continuing to have feelings for him was Sibyl’s own choice. He was free to move on and he already had. It was she who was stuck in the past. She didn’t let her tears fall. She decided to tear her eyes away, not wanting to watch them anymore, but then she heard Daisy’s voice. “Let’s have a glass before we start, Alpha Keshton,” Daisy purred. Sibyl looked back to find Daisy picking up two glasses, but there was something strange at the bottom of the glass she prepared for Keshton. “Did she mix something in the wine? “Sibyl murmured, her eyes immediately snapping back to Joseph. “Daisy is working with you, right?! What the hell did she mix in Keshton’s wine?!”
