- Fire
Sibyl’s tears dropped onto Kaha’s face as she held her dead friend in her arms. “Kaha…” Sibyl cried, hugging her, but then she looked behind her at the cabinet. It was slightly open. “NO!” Her face turned pale at the sight of the cabinet catching fire. “Liam!” She raced to the cabinet and quickly opened it, not caring about the burn she got on her hand. A small baby was wrapped in a white cloth in the cabinet. Kaha had hid her baby in the cabinet to protect him from the werewolves. Thankfully, the fire had not reached it. Sibyl quickly pulled the baby out and moved away from the burning cabinet that fell to the ground, engulfed in flames. Hugging the child to her chest and stepping back, Sibyl stared at the fire with wide eyes and then glanced at Kaha, whose body was close to other burning, broken furniture in the house. “Kaha!” Sibyl rushed over to her, and with one hand she tried to drag Kaha out of the house before it was too late. However, for some reason, Kaha’s body was heavier than Sibyl had expected. With the child in her arms, Sibyl lacked the strength she needed. She glanced up at the roof, which had also caught fire. “What should I do?” she panicked, quickly dragging Kaha away only to suddenly realize something. She froze in place and glanced at the baby in her arms that was neither crying nor moving. Sibyl’s whole body turned cold as ice. She dropped Kaha’s arm and brought her shaking fingers to the baby’s nose. There was no breathing or heartbeat. Sibyl’s Jegs gave out, and she fell to the floor in front of Kaha’s dead body, which had started to catch fire, beginning with her hair. Sibyl’s tearful eyes were fixed on the baby she couldn’t protect. Her mind went blank, and all she did was sit amidst the flames, staring at the lifeless baby in her arms. Keshton spotted a group of werewolves running out of the soon–to–be–demolished area. Their faces clearly showed they had done something evil, but before Keshton could get out of his car, they had all dashed into the woods in their wolf forms. Keshton gritted his teeth and immediately ran to the area in search of Sibyl. He could instantly track her location, thanks to the bug he had put in Sibyl’s gown pocket when he had bought it for her. Along with her scent, he caught the smell of a fire. The flames of the burning house were so intense and high that he immediately knew where to go. “Sibyl!!” Keshton’s voice echoed in the burning house. His eyes widened at the sight of Kaha’s naked body burning in the fire and Sibyl sitting still amidst the flames. The roof was about to collapse on her. “Sibyl!” he shouted, racing in and grabbing her hand. “Let’s go!” he yelled, dragging her out of the house. Just as they made it out together, the roof collapsed, consuming the entire house in flames. Breathing hard, he studied Sibyl instead of the fire. “Sibyl, are you okay?” He cupped her cheek. She wasn’t looking at him. He grew worried and then finally noticed a baby in her arms. With a glance, he recognized it as Kaha’s baby and realized it had also died. He then looked back at Sibyl, who no longer seemed alive. “Sibyl, what’s wrong?” he asked worriedly, shaking her face. “Look at me. Please, tell me what happened!” he desperately shook her. Sibyl finally lifted her eyes and looked at him. “Your people killed Kaha,” her voice was barely above a whisper. “My people?” Keshton frowned. “That’s impossible.” Sibyl’s eyes watered again as she bit her lip. “They were rogues. Your pack members.” Keshton’s eyes widened as he shook his head. “No, they were not my people. They were not rogues.” “I HAVE SEEN THEM WITH MY OWN EYES!!” Sibyl screamed at the top of her lungs, shoving his hand away. “I HAVE SEEN THEM IN YOUR PACK. THEY ARE YOUR PEOPLE. YOUR ROGUES. THEY KIDNAPPED AND TOOK KAHA TO YOUR UNDERGROUND BROTHEL WHERE THEY RAPED HER TO THE POINT HER WOMANHOOD WAS DESTROYED. THEN THEY KILLED HER!!” “THAT’S NOT TRUE!” Keshton snapped back with equal rage. “They are not my pack members. I have seen their faces as well. They are not rogues!!”
