He wants me to get warm?‘ Eliana wondered silently.
The next second, she heard Theodore say, “Warm my bed.”
She scoffed inwardly, ‘I should’ve known better than to expect him to say anything remotely sweet!

Still, winters in Covenhill were bitterly cold. Even curled into a ball on the couch, she couldn’t feel a little warmth.
His offer was tempting, but the memory of that wild, uncontrollable night made her legs go weak just thinking about it.
Sensing her long silence, Theodore seized the moment and said, “Just don’t get any ideas and start pawing at me. I’m not interested in ironing boards like you.”
Eliana’s face flushed crimson–part anger, part humiliation. She cursed in her mind, ‘So that’s how little he thinks of me? Figures. If Samuel hadn’t spiked the massage oil that night, he wouldn’t have lost control at all.
‘Since that’s the case, why should I feel embarrassed? So what if I sleep next to him?‘
After showering, Eliana came out of the bathroom squeaky clean. She lifted a corner of the blanket with the utmost care and slipped under it slowly.
‘Damn, this is so soft and smooth,‘ she thought as her fingers grazed the fine fabric. She couldn’t help but fidget here and there.
Just then, Theodore’s deep voice came from beside her. “Why are you squirming?”
She immediately froze all over.
“Keep that up, and you will go back to the couch,” Theodore said flatly and turned over to face away from her.
“Got it. Good night,” Eliana muttered, scrunching her nose in frustration. She was relieved that he really had no interest in
her.
Just then, her phone beside the pillow vibrated. Eliana picked it up and saw a voice message in the group chat of her university fellows. Someone mentioned her, so she tapped the audio and held it to her ear.
A female voice rang out. [Hey, Ellie, it’s Dorothy. Just wondering have you found someone new after you and Luke broke up? If you have, why don’t you introduce him to us sometime?]
Eliana’s expression instantly turned gloomy.
Dorothy Gilman was Eliana’s college classmate. Back then, both of them chased after Luke. Eliana won the game and became Luke’s girlfriend, but Dorothy was never gracious about it.
Eliana still remembered Dorothy said to her with a disdainful face, “Don’t get too cocky. Who knows who’ll have the last laugh?”
At the time, Eliana dismissed Dorothy’s words as bitter jealousy. But in the end, Eliana felt like Dorothy wasn’t wrong. Hannah was the one who ended up winning everything.
Eliana snapped out of her thoughts. She had no idea how Dorothy had found out about her breakup with Luke. But the message, thinly veiled as friendly concern, was clearly meant to provoke her.
Eliana typed: [I’m married.]

She suddenly remembered that Theodore and she were in a secret marriage. With a sigh, she deleted the words.

Still, she wasn’t about to let Dorothy gloat, so she typed again: [I’m seeing someone. I’ll introduce him to you someday when he is available.]
Then she tagged Dorothy and hit send.
Instantly, the group chat exploded with messages and emojis.
A girl replied: [Wooow! Sounds like he is busy, huh? Is he cuter than Luke?]
Someone else replied: [Awesome, Ellie. Teach me how to land a top–tier man like that!]
Most of the replies were playful and well–meaning.
It took a long time for Dorothy to finally reply: [He’s not some sugar daddy, is he?]
Eliana turned to glance at Theodore beside her and confidently replied: [Might be a billionaire CEO.]
Dorothy replied: [I’m looking forward to seeing him.]
Eliana arched her eyebrows. She could practically picture Dorothy grinding her teeth in frustration.
Anyway, she was exaggerating. Theodore was, objectively, a rare catch. Even now, blind as he was, that didn’t diminish his allure. His face alone was enough to send most women into a frenzy.
