Eliana muttered inwardly. ‘Wait, no. Why am I drooling over his looks? No matter how handsome Theodore is, he’s still an impossible tyrant. Any normal girl would run for the hills.‘
Eliana set her phone down and tucked the blanket more snugly around herself, while sneaking a quick glance in Theodore’s direction.
He was facing away from her and had even deliberately left a large space between them. That gap reassured her enough to finally drift off to sleep.
What she didn’t see was the slight twitch of Theodore’s brows. Clearly, he was very much awake. Naturally, he also heard the voice message from earlier.
He mused, ‘So Eliana had an ex.
Theodore wasn’t one to pry into others’s pasts. He supported the idea of dating freely. However, a flicker of displeasure crept into his chest.
A moment later, curiosity struck. ‘How did she reply? Did she tell them the truth that she’s married?‘
The mere thought brought a light smile on his face. He knew exactly what he was feeling–possessiveness. Even if he didn’t love Eliana, she was already his wife. No one else had any right to covet her.
Later that night, Eliana had many dreams.
At one moment, she was drowning in the ocean, clinging desperately to a floating log; in the next, she was trudging through a desert, the blazing sun scorching her skin dry.
When she finally opened her eyes, she was startled by her gesture. Her arms and legs were tangled over Theodore, their bodies so close that she could see the lashes on his eyes clearly.
The heat radiating from him made her heart beat uncontrollably. She instinctively tried to slink away, but right then, Theodore’s eyes opened.
Eliana knew he couldn’t see her, yet she still gulped guiltily, screaming in her mind, ‘Crap. Technically, I’m the one who took advantage of him first.
Desperate to ease the awkwardness, she spoke up, “Hey, good morning. Did you sleep well last night?”
Theodore responded in a voice tinged with amused irritation, “What do you think? Being grabbed and cuddled all night. If it were you, would you sleep well?”
Eliana’s cheeks flushed a deep pink. She guessed she must have been too cold and unconsciously moved toward him.
Knowing the truth, she mumbled a soft excuse, “You could’ve pushed me away.”
Her voice, soft and sweet like a pout, slid into his ears. Theodore’s throat bobbed slightly before he replied, his voice low and raspy, “I wanted to. But the second I touched you, you started kicking and biting me. Can’t believe a girl has sleeping habits like that.”
Eliana wanted nothing more than to disappear into the mattress. She scrambled to change the subject. “Aside from that, t didn’t do anything else, right?”
To her dismay, Theodore nodded. “You did.”
She sounded more embarrassed. “Huh?”

“One second it was ‘I’m so cold, hug me,‘ and the next it was ‘So hot, get away from me.’ What do you take me for? A toy you summon and dismiss at will?” His face carried such mock outrage that Eliana nearly crumbled from embarrassment.
She paused for a long time and then muttered, “Oh, it’s getting late. I should go to work.”
With that, she scrambled out of bed, face covered with her hands, and dashed into the bathroom.
The previous night had officially ruined her image.
While Eliana was beating her chest with shame inside the bathroom, Theodore wasn’t doing much better himself.
The way she clung to him last night had been maddening, and his frustration had burned nearly the entire couldn’t believe just how much influence she had over him.
