Chapter 255
After Aria took care of Gabu iel’s affairs, she wanted to take Helen back pack. She met Rowan downstairs at the hospital.
Rowan stepped out of the cat and walked towards them, his face turning serious. “I heard about the tragedy.”
Aria was stunned and couldn’t say a word.
Rowan nodded to Helen and whispered, “Luna Ashworth, please accept my condolences.”
Helen just nodded, her expression still dull and lifeless, as if only an empty shell remained.
“Rowan,” Aria croaked, “I’ll take my mom back first.”
“I am worried about your current condition, so I will drive you there.”
Aria looked at him and nodded, “Thank you.”
Rowan drove the two of them to the Ashworth pack edge. Someone saw this scene and, unaware of Alpha Ashworth’s situation, thought Rowan was Aria’s mate. He shouted to Helen. “Oh, Luna Helen, is your son–in–law here to see you?”
When Rowan heard the word “son–in–law,” his movement of helping Helen out of the car paused.
Helen couldn’t take in anything at the moment, and she didn’t respond to that she wolf’s questions either.
Aria was too busy sending Helen back to rest, so she naturally didn’t pay attention.
Watching the mother and daughter ignore each other, the she–wolf muttered, “What a gloomy expression, as if someone had died!”
Aria helped Helen into the pack house, with Rowan also lending a hand.
After Helen returned to the bedroom, she finally spoke, “I want to be alone for a while.”
Aria was worried about her, but the sudden turn of events happened too quickly, and she did need some time to calm down.
“Mom, I am right outside the door, just call me if you need anything.”
Aria left the bedroom.
Rowan was looking at her in the living room, “How is Luna Ashworth?”
She shook her head, “She’s fine.”
“Aria, don’t be too sad. If there’s anything you need from me, just speak up,” Rowan approached, raising his hand and placing it on her shoulder, “Don’t keep it all to yourself either.”
After hearing this sentence, Aria’s heart suddenly felt even more painful.
“Let yourself cry if you want to.”
As soon as he finished speaking, Aria covered her lips, trying not to cry too loudly.
Rowan embraced her tightly and patted her back to comfort her.
