What the hell did she mix in Keshton’s wine?!” she screamed, not caring about offending Joseph anymore. Joseph replied with disinterest, “Only the Goddess knows. It could be wolfsbane or poison,” he slowly shifted his admiring gaze from his wine to Sibyl. “Or a spell?” His eyes shone with insanity. Sibyl’s eyes widened. If it was a spell and she could see it then Keshton could not, that meant he was still under the blind spell and would drink the wine without a question! “NO!” Sibyl shook her head and turned to see Keshton accepting the glass. “KESHTON, DON’T DRINK THAT!” she screamed, crawling off of the bed and rushing to the mirror. However, she tripped and fell face first. A sharp pain surged through her forehead but was quickly surpassed by a realization. She opened her eyes to find shattered pieces of the mirror on the ground beside her. It had knocked over because of her. “NO…” she sat on the ground, seeing that the mirror was completely broken and she could no longer see anything. “Keshton…” she called his name, then turned to look at Joseph, who had. not moved an inch from his spot on the couch. “STOP ALL OF THIS! STOP DAISY!!” With her hands still tied behind her back, she looked like a soon–to–be–dying animal as she struggled to crawl closer to him. “What a sight,” Joseph’s lips curled up in a satisfied yet sick smile as he watched Sibyl crawl desperately closer. ” STOP DAISY!” Sibyl shouted again, but this time her chin met with Joseph’s shoes. He lifted her chin with the tip of his shoe. “I don’t have the power to save Keshton from a spell that he drinks, but there is a way.” “What is it?!” Sibyl demanded impatiently. There was no way she could let Keshton die. “It’s simple. He has to avoid drinking,” Joseph replied casually. Sibyl was taken aback. She began wriggling to break free from the ties around her hands. But the more she struggled, the tighter it seemed to get around her wrists. Blood appeared in her eyes as she looked up at Joseph, her eyes desperate. “LET ME FREE! I HAVE TO SAVE KESHTON!” Joseph eyed her flushed cheeks and hateful glare, a sick excitement rising in his veins. When he did not say a word, Sibyl lost her patience. Her legs, no longer asleep, regained their strength. She got up and raced to the door at lightning speed. Joseph’s chuckle before she felt a strong, inhuman grip around her waist, and she was slammed onto the bed. “Ahh!” she screamed in fear, crawling back when she saw Joseph climbing onto the bed. Terrified, she turned around and tried to escape to the other side, only to be mercilessly pinned down by the back of her neck to the bed by Joseph. “No more running away now,” he leaned down pinning her, his hard chest completely pressed against Sibyl’s back. Sibyl cried in disgust and anger, “Let me go, you evil bastard. I have to save Keshton! Let me f*****g go!!” “How about sleeping with me in exchange for preventing Keshton from drinking the wine?” Joseph whispered into Sibyl’s ear. Sibyl’s whole body grew cold at his words. “Are you insane? I would rather die than sleep with a deranged piece of trash like you!” she spat in disgust. Suddenly, Sibyl saw a phone drop down on the bed a few inches away from her face. Its screen was bright, and she saw Keshton’s number flash on the screen. “Make your choice,” Joseph murmured, lifting her dress and exposing her panties. “Don’t…” she struggled in fear but was pressed harder into the bed by him. “You only have ten seconds to decide,” he whispered, hooking his finger to her panties. Sibyl’s heart started beating like a drum in her chest. She glanced at the phone. If she called Keshton and stopped him from drinking the wine, she could save him in time. But agreeing to sleep with Joseph meant betraying her love for Keshton. “Five seconds left,” he reminded her while sliding down her panties. Sibyl’s tears spilled from her eyes as she once again looked at the phone. If Keshton died, she would lose everything. Even though they couldn’t be together/she wanted him to live and be safe. “Your time is up…” “I am ready,” she quietly murmured, silent tears spilling out of her eyes. “Please let me call him.” A sick smile graced Joseph’s lips. He pressed the button to call. After it spent a long time ringing without Keshton answering Sibyl’s heart constricted with horror believing that he had drunk the wine. Until his voice came from the other side. “Hello” Sibyl glanced at the screen, her heart swelling with pain. Her shivering lips parted, and she forced her voice
out, “Hello, Keshton.” There was no response for a couple of seconds before Keshton spoke, “What do you want?” His tone was indifferent and emotionless. Sibyl’s heart ached, and fresh tears rolled from the corners of her eyes. “Don’t drink that wine. It’s been poisoned,” her voice was barely above a whisper due to her silent tears. Once again, there was no response from the other side. Sibyl stared at the phone, desperate to hear his voice. After some time, his voice came, “Don’t you have anything else to say?” Joseph’s claws dug into her flesh, indirectly warning her to keep her mouth shut. Sibyl bit her lips not due to the physical pain but heartache. “I do.” Joseph glared at her, making her bleed with his claws, but Sibyl did not stop. She choked down her true feelings. Shedding the last of her tears then whispered the last words she would say to him, “1 am leaving. Let’s not ever look for each other.”
