Chapter 123
Dillan was becoming more and more important in Martin’s eyes.
If he really is the legendary Master Cameron, then together, we could become an unstoppable force in the business world.
That way, Martin wouldn’t have to feel so humiliated having to grovel to Byron, who was merely a junior.
He had originally hoped to use this opportunity to secure an engagement between Byron and his daughter. But Byron didn’t give him the time of day, so, crestfallen, he could only take Joanna home.
The following morning, Martin personally went to the airport to pick up an old friend returning from overseas,
“Charlie, over here!” he called out, waving vigorously toward the exit.
A man in his fifties walked out, dragging a suitcase behind him. He was Charlie Burke, the person Martin had been waiting for.
Charlie Burke, a heavyweight in the investment world, cut an imposing figure in his tailored black suit, his stocky frame exuding a commanding
presence.
Charlie gave Martin a warm handshake and said, “Martin, I’m truly honored you came to pick me up in person.”
Martin burst into laughter and said, “Charlie, we’re like brothers. No need to stand on ceremony. Besides, I do have a little favor to ask you.”
Charlie asked, puzzled, “What is it?”
Martin paused, then said, “Charlie, I recall you once told me that you and Master Cameron were sworn enemies and that he had stolen business deals from you before.”
Hearing this, Charlie gritted his teeth fiercely, his voice laced with resentment. He replied, “Yeah, that’s exactly what happened.”
“Charlie, you must recognize Master Cameron, right?” Martin smiled. “He’s lived abroad for years, so very few people have actually met him. I recently met someone who claims to be Master Cameron, and I was hoping you could help me verify his identity.”
Just hearing the name “Master Cameron” made Charlie’s blood boil. He had suffered multiple defeats at the hands of Master Cameron in investment deals and had sworn never to see him again.
But since it was an old friend’s request, he had no choice but to nod in agreement.
“Master Cameron ran into a bit of trouble and is in the hospital right now. Let’s head over there. As he spoke, Martin opened the car door and gestured for Charlie to get in the back seat.
The “Master Cameron” Martin mentioned was none other than Dillan. And he was hospitalized after Hayden had him beaten up.
Because Dillan wanted to get the Aquamarine Star from Hayden. Hayden pretended to hand it over, but halfway through, he sent his men to retrieve it.
Dillan still didn’t know the truth.
At that moment, in Dillan’s hospital room, Joanna was sitting by his side, carefully slicing an apple before handing it to him.
“Joanna, thank you so much for this,” Dillan said. ‘It’s such a shame the Aquamarine Star got stolen. I really don’t kno
recover it.”
police will be able to
Dillan seethed with anger at the thought.
“Ten million euros! Gone just like that,” Dillan thought bitterly..
And to make matters worse, he still owed Hayden that money and he even signed a ten–million–euro 1OU.

Chapter 123
Dillan bit viciously into the apple Joanna had peeled for him, his mind seething with resentment.
His debts had been piling up like a snowball rolling downhill lately.
First came the rent and renovation costs for Sylvia’s company. Then he even had to mortgage his own business.
He could only pin all his hopes on Sylvia, praying she’d pay him back soon, maybe enough to cover his debt to Hayden.
As they stepped out of the elevator into the hospital corridor, Martin suddenly doubled over with stomach pain. He said hurriedly, “Charlie, please wait
here. I need to use the restroom.”
Charlie nodded and casually looked around. Suddenly, as a woman appeared at the far end of the corridor, his eyes instantly narrowed.
Of all people, it was Sylvia.
Charlie knew all too well that Sylvia was Master Cameron, his sworn enemy.
Sylvia seemed to sense something and instinctively turned her head only to freeze momentarily in surprise.
‘Never thought I’d run into Charlie Burke here.‘ she thought to herself.
Just as she was about to leave, Charlie’s words froze her in place.
Charlie said, “Well, well, who would’ve thought the great Master Cameron actually came back? So, Martin wanted me to meet you, huh?”
“Martin?” Sylvia thought.
“Martin brought Charlie to the hospital?” Sylvia thought in alarm.
Sylvia quickly figured out Martin’s intention. After all, Dillan was staying in this very hospital.
Martin brought Charlie here simply to confirm whether Dillan was really Master Cameron.
Overseas, she had clashed with Charlie in business dealings. Naturally, he knew full well she was the real Master Cameron.
‘If he sees Dillan, it’ll be a disaster,‘ Sylvia thought anxiously.
“Charlie, long time no see,” Sylvia said.
Sylvia walked up to Charlie and professionally sized him up. “Mr. Burke, are you here for a check–up? Judging by your complexion, flushed cheeks and a slightly darkened forehead, if I’m not mistaken, you’re having some serious heart and liver issues.”
Charlie sneered. “What a load of nonsense. I know my own body better than anyone. Save your concern.”
Sylvia said calmly, “Mr. Burke, if you insist, then just forget I said anything. But if you want to get better, come find me in the president’s office later. This is your one and only chance.
Just remember, from now on, when it comes to anything involving me, you’d better tread carefully.”
Charlie narrowed his eyes, shot Sylvia a disgruntled glare, then turned on his heel and strode off.
Sylvia furrowed her brow, unable to shake the worry gnawing at her heart.
After all, there was bad blood between her and Charlie. She couldn’t exactly force him to do anything.
Just then, as Martin emerged from the restroom, Sylvia slipped away toward the president’s office.
“Charlie, the room’s just up ahead. Could you check if the person inside is really Master Cameron?” Martin approached Charlie and gestured toward the
room ahead.

Chapter 123
Charlie’s eyes narrowed. ‘I just saw Master Cameron. So who’s this in the ward?‘ he wondered.
‘If there is, then this person must be a fake!‘ Charlie thought with a sneer.
He followed Martin into the ward. One look at Dillan on the bed, and he instantly knew the truth.
‘So it’s a fake.‘ Charlie thought.
‘Master Cameron couldn’t possibly be a man. Because the real Master Cameron is Sylvia, the very woman I just ran into. Charlie thought incredulously.
Dillan was momentarily taken aback when two middle–aged men suddenly entered the room, unsure of how to react.
Joanna quickly stepped in to introduce them. “Dillan, this is my dad, and next to him is his friend, Mr. Burke,”
Hearing that Joanna’s father and another elder had arrived, Dillan gritted his teeth through the pain and hurriedly got up from bed.
He greeted Martin politely, “Hello, Mr. Moore.”
Dillan turned to Charlie and offered a handshake. “Hello, Mr. Burke,” he said politely.
Charlie ignored the proffered hand, a mocking glint in his eyes.
‘This guy really knows how to put on a show. Doesn’t he worry someone will see right through him?‘ Charlie thought.
He instinctively wanted to expose Dillan, but just then, Sylvia’s words suddenly flashed through his mind, “You’re having some serious heart and liver issues.”
Though he’d never admitted it openly, he’d been battling these health issues for years. As he got older, things only got worse. He’d visited countless hospitals, big and small, but nothing worked.
‘Sylvia had diagnosed my illness just by observing his complexion. Could she really cure me?‘ pondered Charlie.
