Chapter 127
“Byron, don’t you dare touch me! I’m the legendary Master Cameron, an internet sensation!”
As a dozen black–suited bodyguards charged menacingly toward him, Dillan shrieked at the top of his lungs.
Byron’s icy gaze showed complete disregard for Dillan’s frantic shouts.
Byron barked, “Don’t stop until he shuts up!”
At Byron’s command, the bodyguards instantly descended upon Dillan, raining brutal punches and kicks. He howled in pain, desperately scrambling across the floor to dodge their relentless assault.
Dillan was kicked to the ground, but he desperately scrambled to his feet, pointed at Byron, and shouted, “Byron, you better stop right now, or I’ll expose you online!”
“Keep beating him,” Byron commanded coldly.
Most would have been intimidated by Dillan’s threats, but Byron was Silverton’s most feared figure. Few sites dared run negative stories about him, and even then, the comment sections remained deathly silent.
Dillan never expected Byron to be so ruthless. Curling up and covering his head, he whimpered, “Not the face! I’ve got an important meeting tomorrow…”
Thanks to Dillan’s desperate pleas, his face was spared. Though he didn’t have a scratch on him, he felt like every bone in his body was broken. When he finally staggered to his feet, he limped away in pain.
Byron shot him á frosty glare, the kind that could freeze a man where he stood.
Byron thought contemptuously, ‘There is no way such a spineless coward could possibly be the legendary Master Cameron. He grew increasingly suspicious of Dillan’s true identity.
Whether Dillan was Master Cameron or not didn’t concern Byron at all. But what really infuriated him was that Sylvia actually fell for his lies.
Byron thought bitterly, ‘That foolish woman. She’s got all the wit when it comes to me, but she’s completely defenseless around everyone else. Has it never crossed her mind that Dillan might be lying to her?‘
At the thought, a surge of irritation rose in Byron. Jaw clenched, he watched Dillan limp pathetically toward his car, then suddenly lunged forward and sent him sprawling with another vicious kick.
Dillan was furious but kept silent, his eyes filled with venomous hatred. Afraid Byron would come after him again, he scrambled into his car and sped
away.
Sylvia had no idea Dillan had been beaten up.
That evening, as she always did, Sylvia drove to pick up Zack and Ruby, and prepared a delicious dinner for them with extra care.
After finishing his business dinner, Byron came by to pick up Zack, without mentioning a word to Sylvia about Dillan’s beating.
The next morning, Sylvia arrived at the Skyline Convention Center.
The internationally renowned convention center towers majestically, its soaring structure resting like a regal lion, radiating power and grandeur.
The convention center boasted more than a dozen meeting rooms of various sizes. The most luxurious one, lo garden and came equipped with state–of–the–art teleconferencing facilities.
Joanna frowned. “What’s she doing here?“,
Just then, a car pulled into the parking lot, and Dillan stepped out with Joanna.

Joanna looked stunning in a crisp white pantsuit and black stilettos.
Joanna couldn’t help but frown when she spotted Sylvia.
Dillan was impeccably dressed in a suit. Although he’d been beaten by Byron just yesterday, his face showed no trace of injury. The only giveaway was a slight stiffness in his walk.
He was clearly annoyed to see Sylvia there. Turning to Joanna, he said, “Joanna, wait here for a
sec. I’ll go tell her to leave.”
Joanna asked with concern, “Dillan, do you really think Sylvia will leave? You may be the chairman of Cerulean Entertainment, but she’s the real boss.”
Dillan scoffed, “She wouldn’t dare disobey my orders. Joanna, didn’t I tell you before? Sylvia was nothing but a maid in my household. Even if Cerulean Entertainment is under her name now, that’s just my charity to her. I can take it back anytime.”
Joanna giggled. “Dillan, that’d be perfect. I don’t want any other women around you.” With that, she lowered her head demurety.
Dillan’s heart swelled with affection, his body trembling slightly as if touched by Joanna’s thoughtful devotion.
Dillan marched up to Sylvia, his face stormy, He demanded, “Sylvia, who gave you permission to be here? Get out. Now.”
Joanna said under her breath, “Sylvia, since Dillan is the chairman of your company, you’d better just do as he says. Don’t push his buttons.”
Sylvia shot Dillan a cool, disdainful glance. “Think carefully, Dillan. Without me, you wouldn’t even make it through the front door.”
Joanna said impatiently, “Sylvia, since Dillan booked this convention center, he obviously has the right to enter. You don’t have to worry about this.”
Sylvia paused, then turned to Dillan sharply. “Did you tell Joanna you booked this place?”
Dillan’s face flushed red as he snapped, “Sylvia, this isn’t your business. Get out. Now!”
Dillan had always convinced himself that Sylvia was smitten with him. In his mind, his every word was gospel, and he fully expected her to meekly leave at his command.
But Sylvia stood her ground. Instead, she looked ahead and saw the convention center’s security manager striding over with several guards in tow.
Dillan and Joanna both turned to look, their faces instantly lighting up with matching smug expressions, clearly assuming the security team was there to welcome them.
The security manager hurried over to Sylvia, his face beaming with a wide smile. “Miss Sullivan, you’re finally here. Right this way, please.”
He had already received a call from Byron, informing him that the penthouse sky garden conference room had been reserved for Sylvia. That’s why he was so respectful when she arrived.
Sylvia followed the security manager with purposeful strides. The automatic doors ahead slid open silently, revealing a series of sleek, high–tech conference rooms.
Joanna stood there, stunned, then turned to Dillan with a frown. “Dillan, did the security manager make a mistake? Why is he escorting Sylvia in like she’s some VIP?“.
Dillan frowned slightly and explained, “I assigned Sylvia to handle the conference room reservation, so of course the security recognizes her. Let’s just follow them in for now. I’ll make her leave once we re inside.”
Sylvia strode straight into the convention center/the automatic doors slowly sliding shut behind her.
“Who are you two? Scram!” Just as Dillan and Joanna were about to follow, the security manager whirled around and shouted sharply at them.
Dillan’s face darkened. “I’m the chairman of Cerulean Entertainment. I booked your convention center today. Get out of my way now!”
Dillan pointed at Joanna beside him and snapped, “Are you blind? She’s the vice chairwoman of Cerulean Entertainment!”

He had promised Joanna she’d be vice chairwoman once the company was set up.
Hearing this, Joanna instantly perked up, her face glowing with pride at the prestigious title.
“Chairman? Vice–chairwoman? Who do you think you’re trying to impress? Half the people coming here are executives. Let me make this clear, I have no record of you two. Now get lost!”
While Dillan and Joanna were still basking in their self–importance, the security manager, his patience exhausted, snapped at them.
