Chapter 121
Hayden’s face flushed crimson with embarrassment as he this up and I swear I’ll turn on you!”
protested, “Byron, cut this nonsense out! We’re grown men. Stop spanking me like a kid! Keep
As one of Silverton’s most prominent young tycoons, being pinned against the bathroom sink and spanked by Byron was utterly humiliating.
Byron’s face darkened. He rolled up his sleeves and delivered another stinging slap with full force.
“Byron, I’m sorry. Please, stop hitting me!” Hayden pleaded desperately, his face flushing crimson as he struggled in vain.
“Are you still seeing Sylvia?” Byron demanded icily.
Hayden’s face flushed. Normally, he’d agree without hesitation, but this time he stiffened his neck defiantly and shot back, “You and Sylvia are already divorced. Who I date is none of your business.”
Byron let out a cold laugh. “You stubborn bastard. You just won’t give up until you’ve hit rock bottom, huh?” Just as he was about to strike again, Sylvia burst in.
“Byron, stop!” Sylvia shouted, her face flushed with embarrassment and anger as she saw Byron spanking Hayden. She quickly pulled Hayden behind her.
Byron glared fiercely at Sylvia. Had it been anyone else, they would’ve ignited his fury instantly. But facing Sylvia, he could only clench his jaw and swallow his rage.
Rubbing his stinging backside, Hayden limped down from the sink and whined to Sylvia, “Sylvia, Byron is being utterly unreasonable.”
Though Byron had just spanked him, Hayden didn’t dare vent his anger at Byron. Instead, he could only whine pitifully to Sylvia.
“Let’s go. Don’t mind him,” Sylvia said firmly, grabbing Hayden’s arm and starting to lead him out.
“Hayden, if you dare leave with her, don’t ever call me your buddy again!” Byron snapped.
Hayden hesitated. Byron had been his best friend and idol for years. He didn’t want to lose this close friend, nor did he want to give up on Sylvia.
Caught between a rock and a hard place, Hayden suddenly got an idea. He turned to Sylvia with a pitiful look and complained, “Sylvia, look how Byron’s bullying me into giving you up.”
Sylvia was clearly furious. She stepped forward and gave Byron’s arm two sharp smacks. “Byron, how could you? Hayden treats you like a brother, yet you’re deliberately putting him in a tough spot.”
Byron’s face darkened with rage as he glared ferociously at Hayden, instantly seeing through his underhanded scheme.
Rubbing his sore buttocks, Hayden nevertheless lifted his chin defiantly, locking eyes with Byron without yielding an inch.
Byron was itching to give Hayden another beating, but with Sylvia standing right there, he could only clench his fists and hold himself back.
It was, after all, a public restroom. Just then, a cleaner walked in and froze in shock at the scene.
“Two guys and a woman? What is going on?” the cleaner thought, staring in shock.
Seeing this, Sylvia immediately left the restroom. Pausing at the doorway, she turned to Hayden, who had followed her out, and said, “Get in the car first. Let’s see if he dares to stop you.”
Hayden nodded eagerly, scrambled into the car, stomped on the gas, and sped away in a cloud of dust.
“Sylvia, we need to talk.” Byron said icily as he reached the doorway.

Chapter 121
Byron wanted to talk things over with Sylvia, but she didn’t even spare him a glance. She got in her car and drove off without looking back,
Byron was seething with frustration. After all the trouble he went through to finally get Sylvia to agree to dinner, that brat Hayden just had to come along and mess it all up.
‘I’ll settle this score with him later,‘ Byron thought angrily.
Seething with rage, Byron slammed the car door and peeled out of the hotel parking lot.
As Sylvia was driving past a street food stall, she was surprised to spot Jolie’s car parked nearby.
Jolie Wren, Sylvia’s assistant, was tasked with picking up Ruby from school that evening.
‘What’s Jolie doing here?‘ Sylvia wondered.
She pulled over by the curb, her gaze instinctively drawn to the food stall outside the snack shop. She froze for a moment and a faint smile touched her lips.
There sat Zack and Ruby Sullivan, happily slurping ramen, while Jolie watched them from the side with resigned amusement.
That evening, when Jolie went to pick up Ruby from school, Zack insisted on coming along. Left with no choice, she had to bring him too.
On the way, Zack and Ruby kept pestering Jolie for street food until she had no choice but to pull over.
“Ruby, is it good?” Zack asked between big slurps of noodles. He rarely ate street food, but was now enjoying it with gusto as he turned to her.
“Yummy!” Ruby grinned, looking up from her bowl.
Ruby’s face was practically buried in her ramen bowl. She looked up, beaming as she answered.
Ruby rarely ate street food either, but to her surprise, it was absolutely delicious.
Zack opened a yogurt drink for Ruby, then picked up his own and raised it with exaggerated ceremony. “Ruby, cheers.”
The two little ones happily clinked their yogurt cups with a cheerful “Cheers.” and eagerly slurped down their drinks.
“Ms. Sylvia, what brings you here?”
“Ms. Sylvia!” Jolie quickly got up, anxious about being scolded. She hurried to explain, “The kids insisted on coming here to eat ramen. I couldn’t do anything about it. But anyway, this ramen place is quite clean and hygienic.”
Sylvia smiled reassuringly. “It’s alright. The occasional street food won’t hurt.”
Seeing Sylvia, Zack and Ruby immediately hopped off their chairs and scampered over to her, vying with each other to shout, “Mom!”
Sylvia gently patted the little ones‘ heads and asked, “Are you full?”
Zack and Ruby answered in unison, grinning, “Yes!”
“Let’s go home, kids,” Sylvia said.
Sylvia took the two kids and headed back to the car.
“Did I say you could take Zack home?” Byron’s icy voice cut in from behind.
Byron had just left the hotel and happened to pass by. Catching sight of the scene, he instinctively stepped out of his car.
Zack immediately pouted, his little face scrunched up with the most pitiful puppy–dog eyes as he looked up at Byron pleadingly. “Dad, can I please go to Mom’s place to play for a while? I promise I’ll come home right after.”

Byron frowned and said in a low voice, “You’ll just get caught up playing and forget your homework. Tell you what, I’ll go with you. Finish your homework first, then you can play.”
All Byron wanted was an excuse to talk things over with Sylvia.
Without giving Byron a chance to speak, Sylvia said firmly, “Zack, go home with your dad.”
Little did Byron know Sylvia wouldn’t give him an inch. She thrust Zack into his arms, grabbed Ruby’s hand, and strode straight to the car without another word.
Byron’s chiseled features darkened like a gathering storm as how Sylvia’s car disappear into the distance.
Zack stood to the side, pouting pitifully. He whined, “Dad, it’s all your fault. Now Mom doesn’t want me anymore.”
Just then, Byron’s phone rang. It was his mother, Liana Blair, calling.
His mother called out, “Byron, why aren’t you home yet? Joanna and her dad are visiting us.”
