Peeking through the crack in the door, she saw Leon Roscente and the others holding documents, presenting reports to someone seated in the seat of
honor.
‘Who is it?‘
‘Could that be the real reason they’d helped her?‘ Sylvia wondered.
But before she could clearly see who was seated in the place of honor, the approaching footsteps of a waiter behind her made her freeze.
Sylvia quickly slipped away. By the time she returned to peek again, only to find that the seat of honor was now empty.
Her suspicions deepened, but she didn’t dare barge in, so she quietly returned to her private room.
As soon as she entered the private room, she heard Dillan was enthusiastically trying to persuade Mr. Moore to invest.
Sylvia sat down and spoke calmly, “Dillan, didn’t you say you wanted to sign several international luxury brands? I’ve already made connections. As long as the funds are in place, we can proceed.”
“Really?” Dillan exclaimed, his eyes lighting up with excitement.
Sylvia nodded. “Based on my initial estimate, we can probably land five or six. But these deals won’t come cheap–at least 300 million dollars.”
She deliberately looked at Mr. Moore–her real purpose in saying all this was to nudge him into making another substantial investment.
Dillan also eagerly turned to him, eyes full of anticipation.
Mr. Moore, however, hesitated. After all, he had already invested a He’d already invested heavily. Without seeing a return, he couldn’t just throw money
- in.
Sylvia took a few bites and stood up, giving them space to discuss. She was curious to see if Dillan could persuade them to invest.
‘If this works,‘ she thought, ‘I’d have totally screwed over the Moores!‘
She walked into the corridor and gazed out the window. Just then, a, familiar figure caught her eye–Chase, Byron’s assistant, walking toward her.
Behind him, two tiny figures, Zack and Ruby, bounced along.
Sylvia stepped forward with a puzzled look. “What brings you here?”
Ruby, dressed in a pink princess dress with her hair in two pigtails, beamed at Sylvia, her eyes crinkling into crescents. “Mommy, Daddy sent us here to eat yummy food!”
“Yes, Mommy, we came to find Daddy,” Zack said, looking every bit the little gentleman with his hair neatly combed and dressed in a crisp four–piece suit.
A sudden realization struck Sylvia like a thunderbolt. She quickly blurted out, “Where’s your Daddy?”
The two little ones looked up at Chase in unison and asked, “Uncle Chase, where’s our daddy?”
Chase smiled and pointed to the private room ahead. He said gently to the kids, “Your dad is inside having dinner with his friends. Go on in now!”
“Yay!” At the mention of food, Zack and Ruby’s faces lit up as they scampered over like two excited bunnies.
Sylvia’s face darkened. It finally hit her–so that’s why Leon had helped her. Byron had been pulling the strings all along!
At that moment, Byron was in a meeting with Leon and the others in the private room. Earlier, he had nearly gotten caught by Sylvia, but luckily managed to slip into the lounge just in time.

“Daddy! Daddy!” Zack and Ruby pushed open the private room door and came bounding in, their little voices ringing with excitement,
Byron was deep in thought, his brow furrowed, when the children burst in. Forcing a faint smile, he set down his chopsticks and rose to embrace them.
But his smile vanished when Sylvia entered after them.
“Byron, are you having fun playing me for a fool?” she glared at him, her anger barely contained.
Sylvia suspected that Byron had known she was Master Cameron all along, yet kept pretending otherwise. The thought of being kept in the dark like this made her blood boil.
“Sylvia, can’t you be more sensible? I’m trying to help you,” Byron said with evident displeasure.
He had gone all out to help her, only to be met with blame. Even the mighty “Tyrant” couldn’t help but feel a pang of grievance.
Leon and the others, unsure whether to intervene. If it weren’t for Byron, they wouldn’t have helped Sylvía at all.
“Daddy, don’t be mean to Mommy!” Ruby ran up to Byron, standing up for Sylvia in her sweet, childish voice.
Zack ran over and tugged Byron’s sleeve. “Come on, Dad, you’re old enough to know better! Women need to be pampered, not reasoned with. If you try to argue, you’re already in the wrong.”
Just moments ago, Leon and the others were ready to defend Byron. Now, stunned into silence, they swallowed their words, grabbed their briefcases, and hastily exited the room.
This was clearly a family matter.
So Sylvia was Byron’s wife! And Byron–he’s none other than the legendary “Tyrant” of the business world!
They wouldn’t dare meddle in the “Tyrant’s” family affairs–unless they wanted to face dire consequences!
Byron thought Sylvia was being completely unreasonable. What made it worse was how Zack and Ruby kept siding with her, fueling his anger even more.
“Alright, alright, I was wrong,” Byron conceded through gritted teeth, clearly unhappy about it.
Of course, Byron didn’t see this as weakness–he was just doing it for Zack and Ruby.
“Do you really think a simple apology is enough? I need you to do something for me–right now.”
Sylvia’s eyes gleamed with mischief as a sly smile curled at her lips. “Go next door and see Dillan,” she said. “Tell them the meal’s on you.”
Byron’s face darkened. “What now?” he demanded, his tone heavy with suspicion.
Sylvia didn’t answer, instead giving Zack and Ruby a knowing look.
Zack quickly chimed in, “Come on, Dad, just do what Mom says! Don’t make her mad again!”
“Yeah, yeah! Zack’s right! You should spoil Mom!” Ruby chimed in.
Byron’s face darkened with barely contained fury. Clenching his jaw, he finally relented through gritted teeth. “Fine, I’ll do it this once, but this is the last
time.”
With that, he stormed out of the private room, fuming.
In the private room next door, Dillan was still trying to persuade Mr. Moore. After all, it was no small commitment.
Just then, Byron pushed the door open and strode in.
Mr. Moore and Joanna’s faces lit up with surprise and delight as they quickly got to their feet when they saw Byron.

However, Byron’s gaze swept past the others and landed directly on Dillan. “Dillan, fancy meeting you here,” he said. “This meal is on me.”
Those simple words sent shockwaves through Mr. Moore and Joanna’s hearts.
Byron’s public show of favor toward Dillan only strengthened Mr. Moore’s resolve to invest.
