Byron only came to Imperial View Balcony for Sylvia’s sake. Not only did he cover Dillan’s bill, but this gesture also made the Moore family see Dillan in a whole new light.
Martin and Joanna gazed at Dillan with growing fervor.
As soon as Byron left, Martin couldn’t wait to pull out a check and hand it to Dillan. “Regarding that overseas superstar deal you mentioned, I’ve decided to move ahead. Here’s the signing fee to get things rolling.”
The more he looked at Dillan, the more pleased he felt. Even Byron held him in high regard–how could he go wrong trusting this man?
Sylvia returned to Imperial View Balcony just in time to see Martin handing Dillan a check. A faint, almost imperceptible smirk crossed her lips.
“Everything’s unfolding exactly as planned,” Sylvia thought. “Now I just have to wait for Dillan to pour that money into the company.”
That evening, Sylvia contacted several international superstars, asking them to arrange their schedules and come to Dranlord as soon as possible to play their part in her scheme.
These superstars were already under contract with her overseas company. Getting them here wouldn’t cost her a dime–but it would cost Dillan everything.
The next morning, Sylvia arrived at Cerulean Entertainment, only to find the office buzzing with unfamiliar faces.
“Sylvia, what are you doing back at the company?” A middle–aged woman emerged from the reception desk, eyeing Sylvia up and down with a sneer. “Haven’t seen you in years; you’ve only gotten prettier. You must’ve spent plenty of my son’s money, I see.”
Sylvia barely recognized the woman standing before her.
Sylvia frowned, trying to place the woman. “Are you Dillan’s mother? What are you doing here?” After all, she grew up in the same village as Dillan and could vaguely recognize the woman before her.
Fiona Sheppard, Dillan’s mother, stood there in a sleek black business suit, a Cerulean Entertainment employee badge hanging from her neck.
“This is my son’s company, of course, I can come!” Fiona glared at Sylvia with suspicion. “What makes you think you can just walk in? Let me make this clear: my son would never stop marrying a divorced woman with a child in tow like you. Get out of here!”
“Did Dillan tell you that?” Sylvia was startled. She never expected him to bring her mother to the company.
Sylvia glanced around and saw nearly every desk occupied by Dillan’s freeloading friends or relatives. Computer screens flashed with video games and movie clips–the place was a total madhouse, reeking of chaos and laziness.
A flash of anger crossed Sylvia’s eyes. She had planned to contact headhunters today to recruit high–caliber professionals, only to find Dillan had beaten her to the punch.
Gritting her teeth, Sylvia marched to Dillan’s office and flung open the door.
Dillan reclined in his leather chair, smoking leisurely, while Joanna sat on the nearby sofa. The two chatted and laughed with effortless ease.
Before Sylvia could say a word, he looked up lazily/“Sylvia, what’s the status with those international superstars you were supposed to contact?”
Sylvia frowned slightly and replied coolly, “They’ll be here tomorrow.”
Dillan nodded approvingly. “Good. Then your job is done. You’re no longer needed here.”
Sylvia’s expression instantly turned icy. He really thought he was the boss now.
Joanna laughed, covering her mouth. “Sylvia, just left the company business to Dillan. Since he’s telling you to go, why not just leave?”

At that moment, five or six people appeared outside the door. It was Jaxon and his Hollywood team members.
Jaxon’s expression darkened. He already knew what was going on–these people were trying to kick the real boss out of her own company!
He narrowed his eyes dangerously. The team members behind him stirred restlessly, practically ready to storm into the office and give Dillan a good thrashing.
“Jaxon!” Sylvia hissed in a low voice, immediately stopping him with a subtle shake of her head in warning.
At Sylvia’s command, Jaxon and his team immediately halted in their tracks.
Sylvia suppressed her fury, her voice cold. “Fine, I’ll go. Call me if anything comes up.”
With that, she turned on her heel and strode out of the office, her expression icy and unreadable.
Dillan finally got his wish and kicked Sylvia out of the company. Turning to Joanna with a triumphant grin, he said, “See that, Joanna? You’re the only one in my heart. I’ll sweep the others away like yesterday’s trash.”
In his mind, this was nothing short of the ultimate romantic declaration.
Joanna’s cheeks flushed pink, but she said nothing.
Sylvia walked out of the office with a frosty look and whispered to Jaxon and the others, “Keep a close eye on this place. Report everything. Under no circumstances let Dillan and his crew get any chance to pull anything!”
Jaxon and his team nodded sharply. “Understood.”
Only after securing their pledge did Sylvia finally leave the office building.
Dillan hadn’t received the overseas funds yet–let him enjoy his illusion of power for now. Tomorrow, when those international superstars arrived and the money changed hands, it would be a different story.
She still held the company seal, and Jaxon would keep watching him. Dillan’s so–called victory would ultimately prove to be nothing but a pipe dream.
Just as she reached her car, a black Lincoln pulled up beside her.
The car door swung open, and a tall, well–built man stepped out. With piercing eyes and a commanding presence, his entire being radiated an unmistakable aura of nobility.
Sylvia barely glanced at him before heading straight for her car.
Byron showed up, but Sylvia was in no mood to deal with him.
Byron frowned as Sylvia brushed past him and headed straight for her car. He felt a prickle of annoyance.
He’d dropped urgent work just to come see her, and she was acting like he was invisible.
Byron called, his tone unusually gentle, “Hey, Sylvia, want to have lunch together?”
Sylvia was the only one who could make Byron rein in his temper.
Despite his inner discomfort, Byron still managed to force a strained smile.
Even the driver, who had always kept his eyes on the road, was momentarily stunned. His usually aloof and ruthless boss was smiling–a rare, almost magical smile that seemed to soften the entire atmosphere around them.
“Not now,” Sylvia snapped, her voice tight with barely contained fury over the company situation.
Byron’s face darkened, his voice sharp with irritation. “Sylvia, don’t take your temper out on me every time something goes wrong.”

“What? You have a temper, too, now? Then don’t come find me!” Sylvia snapped back.
Stung by Sylvia’s retort, Byron’s temper fizzled out instantly. With a resigned sigh, he got back into the car and returned with a massive gift basket overflowing with an assortment of exquisite candies.
Even Byron himself felt a bit awkward seeing this scene.
His children had insisted–women needed to be pampered. That was what gave him this idea.
Sylvia’s cheeks flushed pink at the sight. “Byron, can you not be
