Eliana knew who Hudson meant.
“I wanted to get even with Theodore, but the company’s been making so much profit lately. I know it’s all thanks to him, so I dare not cause trouble. But then your mom calls me a coward, and now my mind is a mess!” Hudson said.

Seeing him sobbing uncontrollably, Eliana sighed softly. Hudson was vain, using Hannah and her show off. He was also cowardly, too afraid to fight back against Belinda’s bullying. But he had once tried to keep the family together.
“Ellie, I’m tired. Tell me what to do,” Hudson said. Eliana looked into his eyes and said, “Dad, Mom and Hannah have strong ambitions. If you run the company well, they’ll respect you. With Mr. Russell helping, it’s easier to make achievements.”
Hudson was tempted but soon shook his head. “But your sister’s situation is largely Theodore’s fault. I can’t-”
“Mr. Russell didn’t expect Julian to suddenly change the auction time, leading to her attack. Julian admitted that to me personally,” Eliana said.
Hudson was shocked. “Is that true?”
“Julian and Mr. Russell have always been at odds. He wouldn’t lie to me to protect Theodore,” Eliana said firmly. “Besides, Burke Group is yours. Will you give it to Mr. Russell out of some childishness?”
Hudson suddenly realized he’d been muddling through–afraid of Belinda and Hannah’s blame, yet unwilling to give up Theodore’s huge profits- forgetting he was Burke Group’s leader.
This moment of realization pained him. For the first time, he bowed to the daughter he’d ignored. “Ellie, am I really a loser?”
Watching him curl up, Eliana patted his shoulder. “Dad, you’re the head of the family. Cheer up.”
Hudson held her hand. The once–distant pair finally reached an understanding.
Back at Russell Manor, Theodore asked with concern, “Where were you? Why so late?”
“Visiting my dad. He’s been in a bad mood lately,” Eliana said truthfully.
Theodore nodded. “Because of me again?”
“Not entirely. My Mom and others put pressure on him,” Eliana said gently.
Theodore replied, “Though he lacks ability, I’ll help him stand firm in the Burke family.” Seeing her surprise, he added helplessly, “He is your father, after
all.”
Eliana had feared his disapproval but found understanding instead. “Thank you, Mr. Russell.”
Just then, her phone rang. She froze at the caller ID. “Whose call is that?” Theodore asked.
“Mr. Jean’s,” Eliana looked at the screen and thought, ‘Is Mr. Jean serious about what he said?‘
With Theodore’s encouraging nod, she answered, Franco chuckled playfully, “Ellie, it’s been two days. Haven’t decided yet? Did I do something wrong to make you hesitate?”
