Hudson told the terrified maid beside him to redo the dinner, then with his head down, went back to the study to handle the official business Linsey had left for him. Belinda ran back to the bedroom to cry.
Hearing the commotion, Hannah came out of her room and asked, “Mom, what happened?”
Belinda sobbed, “Hannah, I want to go home. Tell Issac to pack our luggage–we’re leaving together.”
Hannah was confused. “Mom, why are we leaving? This is our home.”
“Your father has a mistress! He even took her to the company as his secretary! I just said a few words, and he threatened to divorce me,” Belinda wailed.
Hannah quickly processed Belinda’s words and said, “Mom, if that’s the case, I’ll go work at Dad’s company starting tomorrow.”
Belinda was stunned. “What did you say?”
Hannah pretended to be considerate. “I can’t stay unemployed forever. Besides, aren’t you worried Dad will be with that woman? If I work at the company, I can keep an eye on him.”
Belinda was deeply moved. “Hannah, good girl, thank you so much.”
Hannah took some tissues to wipe Belinda’s tears. “Mom, shall we go downstairs for dinner?”
Belinda said, “No, I said we’re going home. If we don’t scare him, he’ll talk to me like that again.”
She added, “Also, your two cousins were fired by your father today. When I go back, I’ll explain the situation to them and find a way to rehire them.”
Hannah said, “Alright, I’ll drive you to the station later.”
What Hannah didn’t say was that she had already lost Nolan and Julian. Now she only had Hudson’s company left, so she must firmly grasp it.

Just then, Alice walked out of the elevator. Seeing this, she sneered, “Mindy, why can’t you remember what I told you?”
Mindy started at the sight of her.
“Don’t you get it? They’re afraid you might poison the water.” Alice took the glass from Mindy and drank it all.
Then she smiled at Theodore, “Don’t worry. If the water was poisoned, I’d be the first to die, not Eliana.”
