Chapter 253
Germinedly, “Alright, I need to show them that even though I’m old, I’m not senile. They can’t keep looking down
Hudson thought it over and then said
on me.”
Theodore didn’t know how long Hudson’s fighting spirit would last, but it was better than nothing. He turned to Linsey and said, “Linsey, stay by Mr. Burke’s side and do your job well, understand?”
Linsey nodded and said primly, “Mr. Russell, the third button on your coat is loose.”
Theodore looked down and saw the third button on his coat was indeed looser than the others, though only slightly.
Linsey added, “Mr. Russell, you’d better fix it soon, or it might leave a bad impression on clients.”
Hearing this, Hudson felt less resentful. So he wasn’t the only one being nitpicked by Linsey.
Theodore said calmly, “I see. I’ll take care of it tonight.”
Linsey checked the time and said to Hudson, “Mr. Burke, we should go. You have an appointment.”
Hudson was confused, but seeing her serious expression, he stood up to bid farewell to Theodore. After all, he was also eager to change.
Once the office door closed, Stanley asked the question he’d been holding back, “Mr. Russell, if you send Linsey to him, won’t Mr. Burke be completely restrained?”
Theodore said flatly, “Hudson lacks decisiveness and needs someone to help him make decisions. Linsey is the perfect fit.”
Meanwhile, Hudson was trying to ingratiate himself with Linsey. “You said I had an appointment?”
Linsey replied stiffly, “Yes, Mr. Burke. I’m taking you for a makeover now.”
Hudson was shocked. “What?”
“Mr. Burke, you should manage your image. A good demeanor is the first step to success.” Linsey took out a small mirror for Hudson to examine himself
closely. “You haven’t cleaned your eye gunk, and your breath smells. Clients are scared away by you.”
Hudson felt miserable. He used to be a handsome man, but now he’d become like this. Linsey frowned, “Mr. Burke, are you listening?”
“Yes, I think you’re right,” Hudson conceded. “I’ll go with you.”
At noon, while having lunch in Starlight Media’s cafeteria, Eliana suddenly received a photo from Theodore.
In the photo, Hudson was meticulously dressed, even his leather shoes shone brightly. Standing by the floor–to–ceiling window with his hands behind his back, gazing up at the sky, he looked like a successful man. She couldn’t help but smile.
In the evening, when Belinda heard from the maid that Hudson was back, she rushed to the door. Ready to scold him, she was shocked to ser emed like a different person, faintly recapturing the verve of his youth.
This only made Belinda angrier. She demanded, “Why did you fire Warren and Simon?”
Warren and Simon were Belinda’s favorite nephews, who had loafed around in Burke Group for seven years. Hudson had finally fired them today, feeling
as if he’d cut out a tumor.
Facing Belinda’s fury, he still felt troubled. “They made no contribution to the company in recent years. This dismissal is lenient.”

“Bullshit!” Belinda sneered. “I heard a woman appeared at the company with you today, claiming to be your secretary, and then Warren and Simon werk fired. Tell me, is she your mistress?”
Hudson used the excuse he’d prepared on the way back. “She’s a formal secretary I hired through proper procedures.”
Belinda glared at him. “Lies! Warren told me you obey her every order. Look at how you’re
dressed!”
Hudson puffed out his chest, satisfied with his appearance. “What’s wrong with how I look? Don’t I look handsome?”
“You look like a groom,” Belinda said with red eyes. “Did that bitch pick out this outfit for you?”
“I don’t want to continue this pointless conversation anymore.” Hudson took off his shoes and walked toward the bedroom.
“Now that you have that bitch, of course you have nothing to say to me!” Belinda followed, sneering, “Too bad, no matter how pretty she is, you can’t sleep with her.”
Horrified that Belinda had aired such a private matter in front of the maid, Hudson blushed and turned around to shout, “Have you said enough?”
“Am I wrong?” Belinda said jealously. “You bastard!”
Hudson was so angry he trembled. Fortunately, he’d taken his medicine before entering, or he would have fainted. Seeing the maids snickering out of the corner of his eye and enduring Belinda’s abuse, he suddenly thought of Ellie, who had encouraged him yesterday.
He closed his eyes heavily, then looked at Belinda with resolve
“Since you hate me so much, maybe we should get a divorce.”
Belinda was stunned–after all these years of Hudson fearing her, he had the courage to mention divorce. She continued to threaten, “Hudson Burke, apologize to me right now, or I’ll go back to my family’s home right now!”
Hudson clenched his fists. His years of tolerance had only made Belinda more demanding and broken the family.
If Belinda hadn’t urged him to sacrifice Ellie for Hannah, he would have given Ellie the million dollars long ago, and Theodore wouldn’t have come to demand it himself.
Moreover, Belinda slapped Ellie behind his back over Hannah’s job loss, becoming the fuse that led Theodore to acquire Burke Group shares and drive them into a corner.
To a large extent, Belinda had torn the family apart step by step. Thinking this, he felt the marriage had no reason to continue. “Whatever. I don’t care anymore.” With that, he walked to the dining table.
Belinda stood there in disbelief. Watching Hudson eat expressionlessly, she suddenly rushed forward and swept the food onto the floor, screaming hysterically, “You son of a bitch!”
