Yellow rumors were just the mildest kind.
At first, she felt bad and thought it was unfair.
Rodrick saw it all, but he never stepped in to clear things up for her.

Britney remembered clearly what Rodrick said back then.

“If you couldn’t even handle this kind of pressure when doing a project, then you should just honestly be a secretary for your whole life.”
That was really heartless.
If Rodrick just spoke as the boss, there was no problem.
The thing was, there was another kind of relationship between them, so Britney felt wronged.
But what Rodrick said back then was still pretty useful now.
Federico saw that she was in a good mood and felt relieved. “I was going to ask you to come to Gnome Bank for an interview today, but now it doesn’t seem right. Let’s wait until things calm down and talk again.”
“Didn’t you ask me to think about it yesterday? I’ve thought it over.”

Plus the project bonuses, and the money I made from trading stocks over the years.
All those bits and pieces added up could make a neat ten million.

But for starting a business or doing a project… it really wasn’t much.
Especially those AI projects that burned through money like water.
R&D investment was high, and the commercialization cycle was pretty long, which really increased the project risk.
Britney wanted to talk to Elias first, at least to let him know the truth.
