The pain was overwhelming.
Indignant, Judson defended her, saying, “How’s this Ms. Harrington’s fault? This policy was released ten minutes ago. Are you saying she should make hypothetical suggestions when drafting the proposal? Isn’t that just empty specula- tion?”
Britney no longer wanted to argue.
She couldn’t be bothered to even say a word.
The clearer her understanding grew, the more her hope faded away.
“Sorry, I’m not feeling well. I’m gonna step out for a bit.”
She didn’t eat anything the entire morning, and her stomach was upset again.
The bread had gone cold, hard to swallow.
But she still forced it down with difficulty.
Fortunately, there was warm water in the pantry. She felt slightly better after drinking half a glass of water.
The medicine helped her recover quickly.
Then she saw Rodrick and Bianca walk out of the meeting room together with smiles on their faces.
Then Judson walked out, too, seemingly in a good mood.
Presuming they had reached a collaboration, she breathed a sigh of relief.
“Ms. Harrington, Ms. Webster wants to tour Aethon Tech’s production line. Care to join us?” Judson offered.
Just as she was about to say no, Rodrick said to her, “The project was almost ruined because of your negligence. Don’t you think you should introduce more details to Ms. Webster?”
She let out a bitter smile, thinking, “So, he still thinks it’s my fault?
“It turns out that my seven years of dedication to Royarch Capital amount to nothing.”
Britney had been to Aethon Tech several times when conducting due diligence visits, so she was quite familiar with the environment.
She introduced the production line with professionalism.
Even Judson, the owner of Aethon Tech, looked at her with approval and admiration.

The staff here were also friendly when they saw her.
Everyone, ranging from the engineers to the janitors, greeted her with a smile.

“Ms. Harrington, are you leaving today? If you’re not in a hurry, why don’t you swing by my place for dinner later? My wife has been wanting to thank you. You helped us find a school, or our son would’ve probably dropped out by now.”
Stewart Walsh, the chief engineer of Aethon Tech, especially came forward to thank Britney.
“How’s Kevin doing in the new school?” she asked, knowing Kevin Walsh was Stewart’s son.
“Great! It’s an esports program that he loves, so he’s been learning enthusiastically. His teacher praises him, too. We were wrong for thinking that playing games would ruin him. Thanks to you, we now know gaming can be a real ca- reer.”
She smiled, “Mr. Walsh, you’re too kind. I just happened to have an esports project, so I knew a bit about it. I’m just glad that I can help. Dinner won’t be necessary.”
“You’ve done us a huge favor! You’re a total lifesaver. We’ve got to properly thank you.”
“But I’m afraid I have to go back to Riverton tonight. Thank you.”
Stewart sighed, looking genuinely dejected.
Judson chimed in, “Stewart, Royarch Capital and Aethon Tech have already reached a collaboration. Rest assured- you’ll have plenty of chances to invite Ms. Harrington over for dinner.”
“I guess you’re right. Ms. Harrington, do join us the next time you come here,” Stewart offered.
But Britney didn’t give him a definite answer.
After all, she was about to leave Royarch Capital, whether Rodrick granted it or not.
“Ms. Harrington is quite popular,” Bianca commented.
Judson nodded with a grin. “She’s practically the star here! Even I can’t compare with her.”
