Chapter 26
“Not at all. Don’t worry,” he comforted her gently.
“You’re lying! See? You’re bleeding.”
Bianca sobbed while gently blowing on his wound. “Let’s go to the hospital.”
“That’s not necessary,” Rodrick said, shaking his head.
But she was stubborn. “I insist. Rod, listen to me, alright?”
Relenting to her persistence, he nodded.
Since the accident had happened at Aethon Tech, Judson joined them.
He quickly arranged for a car and personally escorted Rodrick inside.
After Rodrick and Bianca got into the car, he suddenly remembered Britney. “Where’s Ms. Harrington? Did she get hurt?”
It was such a complete mess, and he didn’t notice where Britney was.
Bianca said, “She stood pretty far from the rack, so I think she’s fine. Besides, she’s not a kid or something. She’d tell us if she were hurt.”
Rodrick echoed, “Don’t mind her.”
Then Judson ordered the driver to start the car and head to the hospital.
Britney, standing not far away from them, heard Rodrick’s words clearly.

“Don’t mind her.”
His words were concise, and his tone was devoid of any emotion or
warmth.
His indifference was as bone–chilling as Anvilburg’s rain.
As her gaze fell upon her injured arm, she smiled self–mockingly.
Her seven years of affection turned out to be totally meaningless.
To him, she was nothing but a piece of luggage that could be discarded at any time.

Britney returned to Riverton that very night. Before boarding the plane, she sent a message to Rodrick’s work WhatsApp account, telling him about it.
Not surprisingly, he didn’t reply to her.
“Maybe he’s busy and hasn’t seen my text,” she thought on the plane.
But there was still no reply after she landed and turned on her phone.
To her surprise, a notification popped up.
Rodrick had just posted something on his Instagram.
He had never done this before.
Curious, she clicked on it, wanting to know what his post was.
“It feels so good being taken care of.”
There was a photo attached to his caption.

Chapter 26
It was just a photo of food.
But it was a live photo, and she heard Bianca’s voice clearly.
Bianca said to him coquettishly, “Rod, you’re hurt. You gotta cat something nutritious to recover better, so I bought you this fish soup.”
Due to the time limit, she didn’t hear his response.
But she didn’t have to.
After all, he had posted it on Instagram already.
But she clearly remembered that he never ate fish.
In fact, he hated fish.
But he ate it with relish because it was the soup Bianca had bought for him.
He even drank on her behalf, even though he was allergic to alcohol.
If that wasn’t love, then what was?
She saw two comments from Edward before she was about to exit Instagram.
Reading Edward’s comments, she remembered how Rodrick was the reason she even had his number in the first place.
Rodrick and his friends gathered a lot. Once, Rodrick’s phone had been dead when he was out with them.
Edward had called her late at night, saying Rodrick was feeling unwell after drinking and asking her to bring allergy medication right away.
She had kept Edward’s number ever since and would text him whenever Rodrick attended their parties.

The contents were always the same–she had pleaded with Edward to keep Rodrick away from alcohol.
Edward had never replied to her.
She knew he couldn’t be bothered to do so.
Like any other of Rodrick’s friends, he despised her.
But she had never cared how they thought of her.
