Chapter 27
Because in her eyes, things between her and Rodrick were their business, and their opinion didn’t matter.
Edward’s comments clearly showed how thrilled he was.
“Seriously? Rodrick, you’re actually showing off on Instagram? You must be crazy about Bianca.”
His second comment was a reply to someone else.
“He shows off because his love for her is real. No posts, no love. It’s simple as that.”
No posts, no love.
Britney seemed to realize this a bit late.
During those seven years together, Rodrick had never posted anything about her on Instagram, not even once.
Only a handful of people knew about their relationship.
To think she had loved him for seven years–no commitment, no title, nothing.
He had drained all her affection for him, and now, she was determined to leave it all behind, him included.
Over the weekend, she packed up all of his belongings and had movers take them to the company warehouse.
The previously stuffed apartment was finally empty.

It looked so much better now.
She looked around, and then her gaze fell upon the ring box containing a pair of rings.
She hadn’t figured out what to do with them.

On Monday, Rodrick went to the company. As soon as he sat down, he called Britney’s extension to ask her to get ready for the weekly meeting.
Yet it was Katheryn who picked up.
Frowning, he asked, “Where’s Britney?”
Katheryn replied, “She’s on sick leave.”
“She’s sick?” He was surprised.
Katheryn sounded even more surprised. “Mr. Livingston, you didn’t know? But you went on a business trip together, right? She was hit in the workshop.”
After falling silent for a few seconds, he said, “I see.”
After the weekly meeting ended, he received a call from his friend, Owen Brock.
“Rod, did Britney resign from Royarch Capital?” Owen asked.
Rodrick frowned. “What makes you say that?”
Owen said, “I went golfing today, and Byron was bragging about recruiting her through Randell. I was so surprised. I mean, she’d never leave you, right? So, I figured Randell must have fooled him. But he

seemed so confident, and I wasn’t so sure anymore. Well? Is it true?”
“No.” Rodrick said without hesitation
Owen smiled. “I know it!”
Everyone was so certain that Britney would never leave Royarch Capital, let alone Rodrick.
Including Rodrick himself.
“Still, I gotta remind you–hold onto Britney tightly. She’s a real talent. Quite a lot of people have been trying to poach her. See? Byron is the perfect example,” Owen reminded Rodrick kindly.
But Rodrick still sounded indifferent and firm. “She won’t go anywhere.”
Hearing this, Owen shrugged, figuring he was overthinking it.
After all, everyone had witnessed how much Britney had cared about Rodrick over the years.
She had always prioritized his needs, loving him wholeheartedly. Of course, she wouldn’t leave him.
They even mocked her for being Rodrick’s most loyal simp, and he could never get rid of her.
It made sense that Rodrick was so certain that she wouldn’t leave him.
“Hey, I just remembered–Federico is back. Wanna hang out tonight?”
Rodrick’s hand, signing a contract, paused for a second before he asked, “What time?”
“Eight, at the same place.”

“Alright,” Rodrick said.
By saying “the same place“, Owen meant Celestia Club.
Britney was there, too.
She wasn’t here for Rodrick. Instead, Randell had proposed to see her here.
He told her that Byron Baldwin, the CEO of Synterra Group, was meeting an important client here, so he scheduled the meeting here to save time.
When she and Randell arrived, the important client hadn’t left yet.
