Elowen said she wanted to get some fresh air, so Theodore pushed her out in the wheelchair to get some air.
“My dad and my mom got along pretty well, right?” Bianca and Rodrick followed the two from a bit of a distance.
She started the conversation.
Rodrick answered.
“My friends all said I had a good personality, but actually, it was because my parents gave me a complete, healthy, and happy environment to grow up in, so I didn’t have any personality flaws. Unlike people who didn’t have a good family growing up, they were harder to get along with and also sensitive and insecure.”
Speaking of that, Bianca paused on purpose before she went on, “Britney’s family didn’t seem that great, kind of sad.”
“Why bring her up when everything was fine?” Rodrick sounded pretty impatient.
Bianca gave a harmless smile, “Got a little too sympathetic.”

Because I couldn’t be away for too long, I was really pressed for time and had to race against the clock.
The elevator just happened to be on her floor, and it was about to close.
Britney hurriedly shouted, “Wait a second.”
She quickly pressed the elevator button, and opened the elevator just before the doors closed.
Just when I was glad I made it, I froze when I saw the face of the person inside.
Bianca was pretty surprised to see Britney. “Britney, what are you doing here? Didn’t you go back to the office?”
Rodrick just kept his usual indifferent look and didn’t react because of Britney’s appearance.
The way she looked at her was no different from how she looked at a stranger.
Out of politeness, Britney gave Bianca a perfunctory answer to her question.
“Someone in my family was sick.”
Bianca said “Oh, what a coincidence, my mom was in the hospital here
too.”
Britney didn’t have time or the mood to talk to Bianca, she just wanted to hurry home to get her stuff so she could get back before the nurses changed shifts.

So she went into the elevator without hesitation, even though there was someone inside she didn’t want to see.
The elevator went all the way down.
Britney stood in front of the two of them, staring straight at the elevator doors.
Bianca was chatting with Rodrick, “Rod, where are we going to eat later? Still going to Placidity Eatery? I thought that place was pretty good, nice environment, good food too.”
“Then let’s go to Placidity Eatery.” Rodrick went along with her wishes.
To be honest, after knowing him for seven years, Britney had never seen Rodrick this easygoing.
He really spoiled Bianca and did whatever she wanted.
Britney could understand, after all, it was a first love she had kept in her heart for years.
Luckily, the elevator was fast, and before they could start the second round of chatting, it reached the first floor.
Britney walked out quickly without looking back.
I didn’t realize it was raining outside until I got to the gate.
The rain was pretty heavy, and it trapped quite a few people.
Before Britney even got through the crowd, Bianca and Rodrick showed up too.
Bianca looked at the rain outside and said, “It’s actually raining. It’s rush hour now, so it’s kind of hard to get a cab.”
