Chapter 13
Tobias’s breathing quickened, the excitement in his chest rising uncontrollably.
He stared intently at the doorway, his expression a mix of nervousness and anticipation.
But in the blink of an eye, that spark was extinguished, like ice water poured over flame,
Because he saw that the person standing outside the door was Tessa,
She stepped through the doors in a floor length wedding dress, her smile poised and graceful as she walked toward him with deliberate calm.
In a few seconds, Tobias stood frozen in place; she had already reached him.
As if nothing had happened, she calmly tried to link arms with him.
“Tobias, sorry to keep you waiting. Let’s begin.”
Before the crowd, she was betting he wouldn’t dare reject her and cause a scene,
But the moment her hand touched his, Tobias instinctively shook her off,
His gaze, once warm, was now laced with frost,
“Didn’t I make it clear to you? Why are you still here?”
The crowd began to stir, whispers spreading quickly,
Under countless scrutinizing eyes, Tessa’s face alternated between red and pale.
Her smile froze and she forced the corners of her lips upward,
“Tobias, what are you saying? Of course, I came. I’m your fiancée; how could this wedding go on
without me?”
Faced with Tessa’s clinging, Tobias’s frown deepened and his tone turned colder,
“I already said it. I will never marry you,”
“The person I want to marry is Savannah and only her”
That one sentence became the final straw. Tessa’s eyes turned red instantly, her voice rising with anguish.
“Tobias, if you always planned to marry Savannah, why did you keep using me to hurt her? Why make me believe you loved me?!”
“Everyone asked if you still had feelings for her and every time, you denied it. You made me believe you, made me fall even deeper and now you tell me it was all fake?!”
Tobias’s patience snapped. He looked at Tessa coldly, watching her cry like a helpless child, her tears falling like rain, but to him, she looked like a stranger,
Until she said Savannah’s name.
“Do you really think Savannah would still marry you? You spent three years taking revenge on her a hundred times for your stupid pride. You even indirectly caused her mother’s death!”
Tobias’s expression finally shifted, a storm churning in his darkened eyes. “You know nothing. Shut up.”
“Am I wrong? Can’t you see how disappointed she is in you? If it weren’t for the debt you forced on her, she would’ve left you long ago!”

“I said shut up!”
Tobias’s voice suddenly rose sharply and he viciously kicked over a nearby decoration.
With a loud crash, it shattered against the floor and the entire atmosphere froze.
Just then, the main doors swung open again and a man in black stepped inside.
Under everyone’s watchful eyes, he approached Tobias, then calmly pulled out a check and an invitation.
“Mr. Duncan, these were entrusted to me by Miss Rossi to deliver to you.”
“She also asked me to pass along a message: congratulations on your wedding. She hopes you’ll like this wedding gift.”
