Chapter 26
Tobias lunged forward, seizing Tessa by the collar and slamming her head down hard against
the table.
“You know nothing! Absolutely nothing!”
Tessa’s breath hitched, her windpipe nearly crushed. She kicked wildly, but even as her strength waned, she continued to spit venom.
“You came running to me like this; what because Savannah rejected you again? You never cherished her and now you’re drowning in regret, aren’t you?”
“If I remember correctly, she’s already registered for marriage with Rafael, hasn’t she? And look at you now, still chasing her like a clown. It’s pathetic.”
Her face flushed deep red from the lack of air, each word forced out between clenched teeth. But the more she said, the more frenzied she became,
Tobias couldn’t take another word, In a burst of fury, he grabbed a pillow from the sofa and pressed it hard over her face.
“Shut up! If it weren’t for you, Savannah would never have left me!”
His hands tightened on the pillow’s edges, his entire body trembling with rage.
Tessa let out muffled screams, her hands clawing upward in panic. Her nails tore jagged lines into his arms, blood soaking through his sleeves,
But Tobias, lost in a haze of madness, didn’t feel a thing. He just kept pressing down.
The sounds beneath the pillow grew softer, then faded altogether.
Tessa’s body went still, completely limp.
The entire room fell silent.
In the dim room, not a single trace of light could break through. Everything felt heavy, suffocating.
Tobias slowly released the pillow, staring blankly at the woman who had gone from fierce. struggling to utter stillness. His hands dropped weakly to his sides.
In that moment, it was as if all strength had left his body. He stumbled, then collapsed onto the floor, his eyes vacant, scanning the darkness around him.
The towering rage that had consumed him just moments earlier had vanished completely.
He opened his mouth to speak, but no words came.
A single tear slid silently down his cheek. When he lifted his hand to wipe it, he found the tears falling faster, slipping past his fingers, soaking down his arms.
Soon, a low, choked sob escaped his throat.
Unable to hold back any longer, he curled into a corner, his body trembling as he cried like a helpless child.
His sobs grew louder, deeper, raw, broken cries echoing through the stillness.
He shivered with every breath, muttering the same words over and over.
Chapter 25
4:10 am
“Savannah… I was wrong… please forgive me…”
Tobias had no idea how long he cried. His eyes were swollen, his throat raw and torn, as if scraped by wind and glass.
Just then, his phone buzzed with a new notification.
The sound cut through the silence like a stone dropped into still water, snapping him back to reality.
He slowly pulled out his phone and the moment he saw the message, clarity returned in an
instant.
The media had just revealed the exact location of Savannah and Rafael’s wedding.
Tomorrow night, there would be a grand celebration and family, friends and even the press were invited.
In the footage, Savannah stood beside Rafael, her arm tucked through his as she beamed at the
cameras.
They looked like a perfect match. Rafael turned to her with warmth in his eyes, every glance radiating tenderness.
Tobias could no longer sit still. He shot up from the floor and bolted toward the door.
Before leaving, he paused for a long moment, casting one final look at Tessa’s lifeless body on the ground.
Two seconds later, without the slightest hesitation, he slammed the door behind him.
