Chapter 30
After the chaos at the wedding and the truth about Tobias came to light, the past he shared with Savannah was dragged into the public eye, igniting a storm of outrage.
The stock price of Duncan Technology Group began to nosedive and several partners hastily withdrew, terminating their contracts one after another. With no leader to hold the reins, the company spiraled into complete disarray.
Rafael didn’t let the opportunity slip by. Amid the disorder, he fanned the flames and swiftly seized many of Duncan Technology’s core projects.
When Alvin Davis learned that Tessa had died at Tobias’s hands, fury consumed him. But with Tobias already dead, his only outlet for that rage was the company he left behind.
Under the combined pressure from Rafael and Alvin, Duncan Technology Group collapsed almost overnight, carved up and devoured by competing enterprises.
When Savannah heard the news, she fet out a soft sigh, nothing more.
Tobias had made his own choices and this was the price he was destined to pay.
In the blink of an eye, everything had crumbled.
And yet, everything had also finally ended.
Her chapter with him was over.
But her life was only just beginning.
She no longer paid attention to the aftermath; there were far more important things waiting ahead.
Because of the fallout from Duncan Technology Group, she and Rafael had been working nonstop for over a month, chasing every possible gain while the window of opportunity remained
open.
Each night when they returned home, it was already late and exhaustion left them with barely a word to spare.
But once the busy period finally passed, Savannah was stunned to discover that Rafael had already planned a surprise honeymoon for them.
They traveled together across iconic landmarks, capturing countless memories in photographs filled with laughter and warmth.
When they arrived at the snow–covered mountains, Savannah instinctively reached for her phone to take pictures, just like she always did, only to feel a gentle weight settle on her head.
Turning around in surprise, she found Rafael carefully placing a veil over her.
She froze for a moment, a strange flutter of anticipation rising in her chest.
And sure enough, in the very next second, Rafael, after adjusting the veil with steady hands, slowly knelt before her.
From his pocket, he pulled out a ring.
The man who always moved through the business world with calm precision now looked almost nervous, his fingers trembling slightly, his breath a little unsteady.

He gazed up at her, eyes brimming with tenderness and love.
“Savannah, before I met you, I used to complain endlessly about how unfair life was. But now, I feel like fate has been unbelievably kind. Everything that’s happened recently, it’s more than
ever dared to dream.”
“I never imagined that falling in love would turn me into this, someone who dreams about cooking dinner with you, curling up on the sofa to watch movies, living a life we build together. Just the thought of you in my life makes everything beautiful. I love you deeply, truly and I’ve always known that my future belongs with you.”
He paused for a moment, his voice cautious yet filled with sincerity.
“Savannah, will you marry me?”
The white veil fluttered in the mountain breeze and something inside her stirred with it.
She slowly extended her hand.
“I will.”
The cold metal of the ring slid onto her finger, but her heart felt impossibly warm.
Overcome with emotion, she leaned down and kissed his lips, soft, warm and trembling with joy.
Their breaths mingled and Rafael cupped the back of her head, deepening the kiss as if he wanted time to stop at that moment.
Only when she was nearly breathless did he finally let her go, his gaze still brimming with unspoken affection.
She leaned gently against his chest, listening to the strong rhythm of his heartbeat.
Above her head, his voice dropped to a quiet murmur.
“Savannah, thank you for walking into my life.”
She smiled softly, lips curving with tenderness and kissed him again. This time, her whisper brushed against his ear like a secret carried by the wind.
“I love you.”
The camera slowly panned across the snowy landscape, capturing not just this moment but every proposal Rafael had ever made thereafter.
