Chapter 53
Venus POV
After taking a long bath, I changed into silk pajama shorts and a tank top. As I lay on my bed, I thought about things I was going to do from How an u life without Aaron seented hopeless, I tossed and turned, wondering if my life was even worth it. There was no reason that Aaron would continue to be with me in this relationship. Had I lost my best friend and the only wolf I loved in my life?
Noira was clawing inside me, hating my sulk, and goading me to go to Aaron. But I argued with her he would never want to see us again. Maybe we were traitors in the eyes of Alpha and Luna or the whole pack, I wanted to meet my father, but it was evident he was in no mood to talk. He must be feeling guilty for what happened to me or the repercussions of his marriage with Gaia, Gaia was thrown into the dungeons, and before leaving this place! intended to talk to her. Demand her the truth.
A wave of panic slammed inside me with a general sense of anxiety. It was impossible to sleep. Tears came out unbridled. Vicky and Gaia bad ruined our lives for their selfish motivations. Vicky had run away and that frustrated the hell out of me. She would not stay quiet for long
Queen Ketari had given a potion to Aaron, which shielded him from magic spells, and that’s why he was unaffected. We had asked her to stay back and help us nab the culprits, but she didn’t because she was going to catch the rogue witches.
I heard soft footsteps outside of my door. Alerted, I got up. I sniffed the air and knew that it was Aaron. He was standing on the other side. My heart pounded in my chest. What did he want? Before he said that he wanted me to leave, I was going to ask him for a divorce.
After a moment of contemplation, he knocked. I sprang out of my bed, switched on the lamp on the side table, and opened the door. “Aaron,” I breathed as our gazes locked. Goddess, his scent was even more intoxicating than it was earlier. It was like my wolf wanted to shift and coat herself with his scent. My knees buckled and had I not held the door, I was sure I was going to be on my knees. He was wearing pajamas that hung loosely on his thighs, revealing the V of his torso. My eyes went down to the dust of hair on his chest that trailed lower to his navel and disappeared beneath his pajamas. Goddess, save me, because I wanted to touch his skin. His muscles rippled beneath my lusty gaze, and before I lost control, I snapped my gaze back to his eyes.
“Can I come in?” he asked hesitantly.
“Yes,” I said and stepped aside to let him come into the room. As he passed me, I stifled a moan. His body heat permeated my skin as my gaze fixated on his sculpted torso muscles and rock–hard abs, reminiscent of a Greek God.
As I closed the door, I leaned on it with my hands on the back. I stared at him, my pulse quickening. “Aaron, I—”
“Why are you sleeping here?” he asked, cutting me off.
I licked my dry lips. “Because I wanted some alone time,” I replied, and walked towards the window, becoming highly aware of my bra–less and panty-
less situation.
He closed the distance between us slowly, taking one careful step at a time. “Why?”
I swallowed thickly. “Aaron, there are too many things on my mind. I don’t know what you and Alpha are thinking about the chaos, but-” I took a ragged breath as I shook my head. Then I steeled myself and looked at him. “I need a divorce.” The moment I said that, Noira whimpered inside me, but I subdued her and blocked her, my heart shattering into a million pieces silently.
Aaron jerked his head back. “Divorce? What the fuck!” He strode to me, his facial expression of horror.
Somehow, I forced myself to look into his eyes, blinking away my tears. “You have to give me a dignified exit before you put me and father on a trial.” I looked at the long table on the side and pointed at the document. “Those are divorce papers. Please sign them and I will submit them to the Elders tomorrow morning.” Shit, why was this so hard? When he didn’t move an inch, I walked to the table, picked up the papers and came back to him. “Please
sign them. You must-”
Before I could say anything else, he snatched the papers from me and tore them wildly. Hurling the pieces in the air, he growled and caught my neck. In a flash of a second, he pulled me closer to him, tilted my head to the side, and before I knew it, he sank his fangs into my flesh, at the point between my neck and shoulders where his mark would sit. “Mine!” he snarled against my skin.
I screamed at the sudden intrusion of pain and pleasure as I grabbed his shirt for life. His one arm slid down, holding me against his body. “Mine, mine,

mine,” he snarted against me with his fangs inside my flesh.
My lungs seized, frozen with shock and surprise. Aaron marked me. Oh. My. Gorldess, I was thinking of a divorce and he marked at. And then somet even more bizarre occurred. My woll yelped, ‘MATE! My world tilted on its axis and started spinning witty. Aaron was my matat Cushalnumpained by skin as the shock of the situation weighed on me.
Reluctantly, he pulled out his fangs from my flesh and licked me over there, gently, as I stayed pressed against his body like putty, with need throbbing h between my thighs. “Aaron…” I whimpered.
He licked my mark more because only his saliva had the power to heal it. Once he looked at me, he cupped the back of my neck and lotted me to wall back until my legs hit the bed. He forced me to lie down on it and crawled over me. When his face was directly above mine, he said in a guttural voice, will never divorce you, Venus.” He pressed a soft kiss on my lips. “I know you’re still mad at me for what happened, but it was all because of that spell Vicky used. Whatever happened was unfortunate, but now I will never part from you, Venus, because you are my mate.”
My jaw dropped. I didn’t know why my vision turned blurry, but he called me his mate. I let out a rough exhale. Cupping his cheeks, I murmured in disbelief, “We are mates.”
He nodded, resting his forehead on mine. “I have always loved you, Venus. Even before I could care to comprehend. The past few months were untoward and like a nightmare. I battled my attraction for you because I thought I was Vicky’s mate. You have saved me from sinking into ugly darkness. It is only fair that you are my mate. I can’t thank the moon goddess enough for that. I will never let you go.”
