Chapter 75
Chapter 75
Nicole POV
Angered that he messaged from my side, I snatched the phone from his hand. “What the hell dude!” I snap. But the moment Fread the message, i laughed so loudly that he smiled.
“This was surely the most effective message you sent him, don’t you think?” he asked.
I couldn’t help laughing and shaking my head. “I won’t argue with that.”
“Thope, that message wards your boyfriend off for a while,” he said.
“He is not my boyfriend anymore. You are. Remember?” At my words, I blushed. “Fake boyfriend,” I added to clarify things. Suddenly, his phone buzzed with messages. And now it’s my turn. He gritted his teeth and looked at his message. So I returned the favor and snatched the phone from his hand. “OMG!” Trasped. “You have so many messages from this girl! Have you also moved on from Ashley so fast?” There were like a dozen messages from her, all stating that she was available now that he had dumped Ashley.
I don’t know why I felt so enraged that I typed the message on his phone.
-Back off, slut. He’s mine. Yours furiously, Nicole.
He sighed as he watched me typing the message and a smile tilted his lips up. It was as if he enjoyed me using his phone. “She is this punt bunny! showed interest in last year,” he said.
I chucked the phone at him, and he caught it in the air with a surprising alacrity. “How can you name women like that?” I said, horrified at the term.
He read my message and laughed. “Well, if the woman is interested in sleeping with a football player so that she can brag about it to her friends, then yes, that’s what we call them.” There was a sharpness in his voice. “She is not the one who is objectified. I am the one who is objectified here.”
I stared at him as my mouth fell open. He leaned closer and closed my mouth. His smell coats me and I feel the familiar twitch in my pussy. My cheeks heated, and I breathed, “Let’s finish with the notes.”
He stared at me intensely as his nostrils flared again. Taking a deep breath in, as if inhaling my scent, he sat back with a smirk on his face. I ignored him and quizzed him after an hour of exchanging notes. “I am surprised how fast you catch up, Wolfe.”
“Oh, you don’t you,” he replied with a hint of mystery. “I am the fastest predator in this world.”
I raise my eyebrow at the hidden meaning in his words, which I can’t understand, because he is a mystery to me as well. “Whatever,” I muttered. But I felt like Eric wasn’t as dumb as I thought he would be. He grasped every information correctly and then answered all my questions pretty well.
As I collected my things in the bag, I yawned. “See you the day after, Wolfe,” I said. Tomorrow, I am quite busy.
He watched me quietly. “What are you doing tomorrow?” he asked. “I have a practice session at five. After that I’m free.”
“Nothing important,” I muttered and swung the bag on my shoulder, gathering the strap close to me.
He jumped out of the bed. “I’ll drop you back.”
“No, 1 can walk,” I replied.
“You just yawned,” he pointed. “That means you’re sleepy. God forbid, what if you fall on the ground in your state?”
“What?” I chuckled. “Are you mad? I won’t fall down. And I don’t sleep–walk.”
“No!” His voice was sharper than it should have been. “I’ll drop you. It’s pretty late and I don’t want you to go alone. You are too important to me.”
“Huh?”

Chapter 75
He stared at me intensely. “I mean, you are too important for me now. You see, I can’t let my grades slip.”
A laughter bubbles inside me, and I laugh. “You are so selfish, Wolfe,”
His lips curled up, and I wondered how it would be to kiss him again. Gods. Last time he kissed me, I felt like taking out my panties and giving them to him. Swallowing down my throat, I reminded myself that Eric Wolfe was the most charming person in the college. Both he and Aaron. Girls behaved like this around him. He was a fine example of a superior human being.
When we came down, I found Aaron’s arms curled around Venus as she cooked dinner, Eric rolled his eyes, muttering, “These two!”
Venus must have heard us. She turned around and asked, “You’re leaving so soon?”
“Come on,” she insisted, removing Aaron’s hands from her. “Have dinner with us.”
“Ah, no thanks,” I replied, feeling embarrassed. “I’ll be on my way.”
“Don’t be mad,” she chided me. “You’re teaching Eric. This is the
east can do.”
God. She was the cutest, sweetest, most adorable woman I had ever met. I looked at Eric, who was watching me with a smile. “Okay,” I said. “Thanks.
Dinner consisted of hamburgers, macaroni, and cheese. Everything
was sinful and absolutely delicious.
“I’ll become fat if I have any more of this again,” I chuckled, complimenting her.
“You’ll look good even if you’re fat, Nic,” Eric remarked, adding more
macaroni on my plate.
As I blushed, I realized that there was silence in the room. Venus and Aaron were staring at Eric, who seemed oblivious of his comment. Without looking at them, he lifted his gaze to me and added, “That’s a fact. You are my beautiful, fake girlfriend.”
I let out a nervous cough while Aaron and Venus just watched the two of us. Eric didn rather awkwardly.
Eric drove me back to the dorm and none of us spoke much. As soon as we arrived breathed.
“The pleasure is mine,” he replied in a serious voice.

I couldn’t sleep well at night, thinking about the day’s events. It was impossible to deny my attraction to Eric. I tossed and turned, wondering if I should continue teaching him when I heard a low gekkering sound. Like an animal was somewhere nearby. I walked to my window. When I opened it, I froze. A red fox was sitting no more than twenty feet away, staring at me. It was taller than all the red foxes I had ever seen. Suddenly, it turned sharply and disappeared into the darkness.
closed the window shut, shocked as hell because foxes weren’t seen in this area. Was I imagining? Was I sleep–walking? Fuck. I jumped in my bed and drifted off to a disturbed sleep, only to have dreams filled with wolves with golden eyes.
“Hey!” Brie’s voice fell on my ears. “Get up, sleeping beauty,” she scolded me. “We are getting late.”
I sighed as I woke up. “Yeah,” I murmured and dashed to the bathroom to get ready.
Three hours later, we were in the cemetery with carnations in my hand, walking towards my father’s grave. I was half–hoping that mom would be here, but she wasn’t. Brie squeezed my hand as I stopped tears from rolling out.
And when I arrived at his grave, I froze in my spot. Eric was standing there.
