Chapter 88
Venus POV
As the evening went on, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride. Our pack was strong, and with Aaronas future Alpha and Mathan as Toxing Beza, (Look we were in good hands. But my attention kept drifting to Nicole,
In the evening as the pack members came to ask about us, I noticed that Nicole was hesitant in talking to them, still wondering about the new world sha
was in.
She was sitting with Eric, her expression a mix of confusion and wonder as he explained more about our world. She was trying so hard to understand, to accept what she had seen and heard. I admired her strength, even if she didn’t see it in herself yet.
Later, as the pack members began to disperse, I went to her. “How are you holding up?” I asked gently.
She looked at me, her eyes tired but determined. “I don’t know,” she admitted. “This is all so… strange. This is all… so much. I mean, werewolves? Packs? It’s like something out of a movie.”
I chuckled lightly. “I get it. It’s a lot to take in. But you’re stronger than you think, Nicole. You’re part of this pack now, whether you realize it or not.”
“But I guess I don’t have a choice, do I?
“You always have a choice,” I said.
She glanced at me, her eyes filled with questions. “I don’t know,” she admitted. She gave a small smile, but didn’t quite reach her eyes. “Thanks, Venus. I just… I feel like I don’t belong here.”
“You do,” I assured her. “And you’ll find your place in time. Just don’t be afraid to lean on us. We’re family now. I think you’re stronger than you realize. You’ve already faced so much and come out on the other side. That’s not something everyone can do.”
She gave me a small smile, and for the first time, I saw a hint of confidence in her eyes. “I didn’t know that I loved Eric so fiercely. I mean look at us,” she said, glancing at Eric who was talking to Nathan. “I came to know about him only a few weeks back and now I am here. Back when I was with the fox shifters, I thought I was going to lose him. The thought-” she placed her hand on her chest and I rubbed her back to reassure her. “I thought that I’d never see him again.” She turned to look at me. “Venus, that was such a horrible thought. I–I can’t explain it to you.”
“I understand, Nic,” I replied.
“Eric told me that we are mates. He explained to me what mates are and trust me all that he said is true. The way I feel for him, the way I feel his emotions–it’s surreal.” She shook her head. “I might not feel as strongly as he does, but I do feel as much as a human can.”
I chuckled. She was really cute. “It’s nice to know about how you love Eric.”
She blushed and glanced at Eric again, who was staring at her only like she was his center of gravity.
She bit her lip and lowered her head. “I want to go back to college to finish our graduation.”
“Of course,” I said. “We all are going back.”
That night, as I lay in bed beside Aaron, I couldn’t help but think about how much our world had changed in such a short time. Nicole was part of our pack now, and while she still had a lot to learn, I believed in her.
Aaron, sensing my thoughts, wrapped an arm around me and kissed my temple. “She’ll be okay,” he said softly. “But I’m happy that Danny is no more!” “I know,” I replied, resting my head against his chest. “But I also know that things with fox shifters may turn.”
He nodded, his eyes serious. “The witches aren’t done with us yet. And neither are the fox shifters. We need to be ready for whatever comes next.”
I nodded, my resolve strengthening. Whatever challenges lay ahead, I knew we would face them together–as a pack, as a family. And I don’t know why

but with Nicole by our side, I felt a spark of hope that maybe, we could win this fight.
Alpha Martin didn’t allow us to leave the next day as well because his scouts were still combing the area around the cõlley”.
We didn’t bother Nicole, knowing fully well that she w
was coping up in the new world she thought was a part of the movies. Eric would take meals to h and we didn’t pester them to come and join us until she w
Was ready.
We were supposed to leave on the third day but on the evening of the second day, Alpha Martin i called all of us in an urgent meeting with the pack members and council members in the main hall of the pack house that was at the center of the pack.
As the pack gathered in the grand hall for an important announcement. Aaron and I stood together at the front, watching as everyone settled in. Nicote stayed close to Eric, her eyes scanning the room nervously
When the room quieted, Alpha Martin spoke. “As you all know, my son Aaron Wolfe will take over Alpha of Oak Pride in a few months. With that comes the responsibility of appointing a Beta. Someone he trusts to stand by his side and help lead this pack.”
A murmur erupted in the pack. Why was Alpha announcing it now? It seemed strange, but then Alpha Martin always thought ten steps ahead. Maybe he wanted everyone to know what was coming up in a few months. More than that I think it was a formal announcement.
I glanced at Eric, wondering if he would step forward. He was Aaron’s brother, and it seemed natural that he would take the position. But I wasn’t surprised when Aaron looked toward another figure in the crowd.
“Nathan,” he said, his voice strong. “Will you accept the role of Beta and serve this pack with honor?”
Nathan, standing tall and broad, stepped forward. He looked proud as he nodded. “It would be my honor, Alpha.” He glanced at Aaron with reverence.
The room erupted in cheers, and I smiled as I looked at Nathan. He had been Aaron’s friend since childhood, and I knew he was more than capable of the role. But when I glanced at Eric, I noticed the brief flicker of disappointment on his face before he quickly masked it.
After the cheers died down, Alpha Martin said, “Aaron, would you like to say something?”
Aaron nodded. “Father, though I don’t want you to step down as Alpha of the Oak Pride pack, but I understand my duties. I’ll be greatly honored to take up the position and lead my pack members.” Then he looked at Eric. “Eric remains one of our strongest warriors and my most trusted advisor. He will always have a place at my side, with or without the title.”
Eric nodded, his expression unreadable. But when he turned to Nicole, his eyes softened, and he gave her a small smile. I realized then that his focus wasn’t on titles or positions. It was on her.
