In the three days leading up to the wedding, Julian and I took hundreds of wedding photos.
He enlarged every single one and hung them all over his study.
Only then did I realize that his entire home was filled with my photos.
Joyful ones, melancholic ones–they were a snapshot of my past five years.
But now, those emotions that once caused me pain had vanished.
It was true, once you stopped loving, it no longer hurt.
I started to enjoy digging for gifts in the bridal suite Julian prepared.
It turned out that over the past five years, many famous auction items had been bought by him.
Now, these gifts had finally found their owner.
But as I dug, I found that blood–stained shirt.
And then I saw his wardrobe, filled with identical white shirts.
Tears immediately blurred my vision.

Seeing me cry, Julian frantically tried to wipe away my tears.
I nestled into his arms, hitting his chest lightly.
“You idiot, do you think you’re so noble?”
Julian caught my mischievous hands.
He asked cautiously, “Aubrey, you didn’t like me back then. Now, do you… like me even a little?”
My tears still on my face, I looked into his eyes. “I hate you.”
Then, I stood on tiptoes and fiercely kissed his lips.
The love missed five years ago was finally fulfilled today.
On our wedding day, I wore a wedding dress layered with countless diamonds.
I watched Julian squat down to put on my wedding shoes.
I admired the faint red marks on his neck.
Thinking of the pure expression on his face last night.
My face quietly flushed.
I let him carry me in his arms.
I could feel his hands trembling.
I pressed my lips to his ear. “Julian, what are you afraid of?”
He looked at me helplessly, his tight lips finally relaxing a little.
The wedding venue was decorated exactly to my preferences.
Familiar symphony music began to play.

My father took my hand and led me towards the center of the stage.
My eyes welled with tears, and I blinked them back fiercely.
But then I saw the shimmer in my father’s eyes too.
“Daughter, if Julian Kingston doesn’t work out either, you can always come home.”
I nodded softly.
The wedding went smoothly.
During the vows, Julian looked into my eyes and firmly said, “I do.”
When it was the bride’s turn, I also firmly said, “I do.”
After exchanging rings, a group of mercenaries, dressed in suits and posing as guests, pushed their way into the hall.
At the very back of the group was Caleb Davies.
He gazed at me emotionally. “Aubrey, you said you’d only marry me. I’m here to take you
home.”
“We’ll have our wedding as soon as we get back.”
I frowned, looking at him with utter disgust. “Mr. Davies, please don’t interrupt my
wedding.”
Caleb knelt directly before me, his voice pleading. “Aubrey, Sera tricked me, and she
tricked my mother too. Please forgive me, you’re the only one I love.”
“If you don’t want to see my mom, we can go to a place where it’s just us, where no one
will disturb us.”
I scoffed. “Caleb Davies, don’t blame all your mistakes on others.”
“Also, I’ll ask you one more time: Was it really you who saved me in that dark alley all those years ago?”

He opened his mouth but couldn’t speak.
I looped my arm through Julian’s, harshly accusing Caleb. “So, you didn’t even cherish happiness you stole.”
“Caleb Davies, I don’t want to see you ever again.”
“Please, leave!”
Julian reassuringly squeezed my hand. “Aubrey, I’m here for you!”
Caleb finally saw Julian clearly.
And he finally knew that *that man* had a face that was strikingly handsome, almost unfairly beautiful.
“Aubrey, give me a chance to make amends.”
He pointed to his chest.
“If
you blame me for you getting shot, then shoot me right here. I won’t say a word. Dead
or alive, you won’t be responsible.”
As he spoke, he pulled out a voluntary statement and a will leaving all his property to me.
“Aubrey, I can’t live without you, I beg you…”
My father immediately ordered his men to restrain them all.
“You good–for–nothing! You showed up uninvited and dared to bully my daughter, Aubrey Kingston!”
“Fine, I’ll grant your wish.”
He made a gesture towards the shadows.

Bang-
Caleb fainted on the ground.
A tranquilizer dart had precisely struck the back of Caleb’s neck.
The wedding continued.
By the time Caleb woke up, Julian and I were already on our honeymoon trip around the
world.
From then on, it became a continuous scene of us moving forward and him chasing
behind.
Caleb had already been hit by seven tranquilizer darts.
And I had personally witnessed Julian’s precise marksmanship.
But this ongoing chase was getting annoying.
I walked up to Caleb. “Stop coming after me. I don’t love you anymore.”
Caleb’s voice was hoarse. “So, you never loved me? You only loved the one who saved
you, not me at all…”
I looked at him with sorrow. If I didn’t love him, why would I have done so many foolish
things?
But I spoke softly, “Yes, that’s right. I never loved you. Don’t bother me anymore.”
He left, his face filled with despair.
Julian pulled me into his arms. “Aubrey, thank you for loving me.”
I looked at him, smiling, and slid his hand down to my lower abdomen. “Julian, I have a
gift for you.”
Julian’s face lit up with overwhelming joy.

He quickly scooped me up into a princess carry.
We ended our honeymoon trip.
And arranged for a family doctor.
I had a feeling that this time, my baby would be born safely.
Because I was surrounded by love.
Seven months later, Julian and I’s daughter was born smoothly.
At her one–month celebration.
A longevity lock made from a bullet casing was hidden among a heap of gifts.
I straightened the longevity lock Julian himself had made for our daughter.
Pretending not to notice him quietly put away that particular gift.
I kissed my daughter’s soft, smooth cheek.
A beauty mark, just like her father’s, rested at the corner of her eye.
Julian hugged me from behind.
A wave of warmth washed over me.
“Aubrey, I’m so happy.”
I leaned into his embrace.
Watching the red sun setting outside the window.
The sky was ablaze with the sunset.
