The luxurious ‘imperial bar‘ that once gave an exclusive VIP suite to Alexander was now rather unwelcoming.
Now that the he has lost all his wealth none of the employees approached Alexander looking at his pitiful state, even the so called friends that he once toasted sat away acting as if they did not even recognized him when the owner informed Alexander that the VIP suite was given tc another‘ important‘ person.
Heavily drunk with the world barely registering in his mind Alexander smacked the glass against the counter. “Fill it! Now!”
“Sir…you don’t look alright-”
“Just do it!” With that the bartender obeyed his words as he gulped down the burning liquid down the throat again.
“Lavina baby…I am sorry….” In between the drinks he chanted my name like a sick man, tears streaming down his face.
Alexander recalled how the nights he went drinking with his friends, I waited for him dutifully back at home.
With sobering soup made from home grown vegetables and mild spices just like he liked. Something light for his stomach.
“She….she knew how my head ached the next morning….If Lavina was still with me she would be definetly rubbing my temples gently, persisting if there was anything stressing me out……‘ Alexander threw his head back laughing like he was crazy with bloodshot eyes
Alexander recalled that while I stood over the stove, pouring love into every dish, he laid tangled in bed with his so called ‘first love‘ the ‘innocent‘ Stephanie who never cooked. Never cared.
When he came home drunk, all she did was toss an Advil on the nightstand and a glass of water before turning off the lights.
The unending alcohol that Stephanie did not mind him drinking as it was his ‘freedom‘ and the constant oily food from outside made Alexander recalled how he had ruined his perfect married life for a slut.
It was at this moment the giant screen in the middle of the bar lighted with hot news.
[Breaking: Madam Lavina and Damien Stone stun the world tonight with their ethereal engagement.]
[Breaking: Childhood sweethearts kiss and exchange rings, Damien Stone gets on his knees to propose his fiancee]
Alexander’s heart lurched as he looked up to the playing recording of our engagement.
“Lavina?”
Next to me stood Damien, his hand around my waist as he gently pulled me up to him, our lips. colliding softly.
With a strong crash the glass in Alexander’s hand was crushed, its shards digging into his palms as he watched me kissing and holding another man.

The room spun and blood trickled down his hand yet that image burned into every corner of Alexander’s sight.
Once his bride. His wife who shyly walked towards him in the snow white dress, him lifting my veil as he gently kissed me on our wedding was now in another man’s arms.
‘She was never yours to keep Alexander. Now she is with a much better man, you made her miscarry your child even if it was a mistake but Damien Stone will love her, share bed with her and father her children‘ The thought echoed in his mind like a blade.
“No!”
Alexander barely remembered falling off the couch as someone rushed to his side shouting.
Even while losing his senses his throat burned from screaming my name.
The staff rushed him to the hospital without a moment of delay.
When Alexander wokeup three days have passed since the incident.
“You are awake Mr Hamilton.” A young male doctor who was recently appointed stood before him. “You were brought in unconscious, bleeding and wounded. Nothing to worry much now but it can become dangerous, it’s alcohol poisoning and can induce a heartattack.”
Alexander tried to sit up but was stopped.
“Sir, you do need to stop drinking like this….especially now that you have such a big responsibility coming up..”
“What are you talking about?”
The doctor hesitated, flipping through the chart. “Well… I assumed you knew. You’re Alexander Hamilton, right? Your wife Lavina was…well we had her under our care recently…she was very malnourished, nearly fainted but now she looks healthy and ever since she comes for monthly chekups.
There were complications, but the baby is stable now.”
“What… What did you say?” Alexander sat up so fast the IV needle ripped out of his arm that was bandaged, his eyes wide.
‘Baby? Our baby is alive?!”
The doctor frowned before opening a folder and pulling out an ultrasound scan.
It was too grainy and black and white but stark clear to make out that there was a small developmental fetus.
Tiny but alive.
Alexander trembled hard before snatching the report in horror.
[Patient: Lavina.
Risk: High.
Fetus issues; Twice- cold and excessive bleeding
Status:Stable]
Alexander read the report again and again.

And his heart shattered completely before a tiny ray of hope enlightened.
He stumbled out of bed, pressing the scan to his chest making the machines beeped frantically as he tore off the monitoring pads.
“She is pregnant!” I whispered. “Lavina is still carrying our child.”
The doctor blocked the door. “Mr. Hamilton, you need to calm down. Your vitals-”
“I need to find her!”
“Mr. Hamilton stop!”
Alexander pushed past the doctor and ran outside.
