Chapter 4
Aria looked at him for a long moment before finally laughing bitterly.
“What if I don’t?”
Hearing this, Knox narrowed his eyes slightly, smiling coldly. “Aria, don’t make me angry.”
His fingers gently caressed her face.
“Aria, don’t be stubborn now. You know what happens when I lose my temper.”
His tone suggested complete control. In Aria’s mind, the scene from the underground chamber flashed vividly–the female doctor torn apart by beasts, covered in blood.
After a long silence, she finally surrendered, throwing her pride to the ground with two simple words:
“I’m sorry.”
Satisfied with her submission, Knox left with Mila without looking back.
Before leaving, Mila glanced back at Aria with undisguised mockery and triumph in her eyes.
For several days afterward, Knox never once showed his face at the hospital.
On the day before Aria’s discharge, an excited nurse shared some news with her.
‘Mrs. Rivera, guess what? You’re going to be a mother!”
Aria stared blankly, not comprehending her meaning.
The nurse explained, “Your test results came back–you’re almost three months pregnant! Congratulations!”
fearing this, Aria trembled with shock.
he never imagined she would carry Knox’s child at this particular moment in her life.
he wasn’t against having children–quite the opposite. She had dreamed of having a child of her own.
Over the years, she had tried everything to conceive, but it never happened.
o spare Knox disappointment, she’d lied, claiming she disliked children.
‘et, just as she’d lost all hope and resigned herself to leaving him, she was pregnant with his child.
Juh. Talk about… ironic timing.

Chapter 4
Aria sat motionless for an hour, her emotions in turmoil.
When she finally decided to find Knox and tell him the news, she discovered he had already made a decision for her.
Knox sat in the doctor’s office, his expression equally complex.
“Mr. Rivera, are you absolutely certain? After all, this is your own flesh and blood.”
Knox repeatedly tapped a pen against the desk, frowning in silence.
Just as the doctor thought he wouldn’t answer, Knox finally looked up.
“I’ve made my decision. Get rid of it.”
Those few words froze Aria just as she was about to knock on the door.
The conversation inside continued.
Knox’s voice carried confusion: “Doctor, I’ve been making her take contraceptives. How could she still get pregnant?”
The doctor sighed. “Mr. Rivera, it’s like this–all medications develop resistance over time. Mrs. Rivera has been
taking the same pill for eight consecutive years. Eventually, it likely stopped being effective.”
“I see,” Knox replied. “Well, this child’s timing is unfortunate. Mila only has about a month left, and I don’t want anything to upset her during her final days.”
“As for children, we can have them later.”
“Schedule the procedure for Aria as soon as possible.”
Aria didn’t remember how she made it back to her room.
Though she no longer harbored any hope for him, her heart still felt as if it had been stabbed repeatedly with knives, bleeding profusely.
The pain was so intense it brought tears to her eyes.
That evening, she was dragged into surgery.
Cold instruments invaded her body, tearing apart the heart that had once beaten only for Knox, leaving it riddled
with wounds.
