Chapter 2
My body was naturally cold, making it difficult to conceive, and even more so after the pregnancy, when the morning sickness
was severe.
Peter, in his attempt to show his care for me, began bringing his work home.
Except for the occasional must attend business dinner, he practically stayed at home 24/7.
Despite his efforts, I wasn’t touched–1 found him fake and repulsive.
Tiffany, as Peter’s secretary, also frequently came by to deliver documents.
With fewer opportunities to flirt outside, the two would take advantage of the situation and grow closer when they thought I wasn’t watching.
I couldn’t care less about their disgusting behavior, but I wasn’t about to let them rub it in my face.
“I’m craving those herbal cakes from Band Road.”
“Mmm, I want the roast duck from Hong Kong Road.”
“And the milk tea from North City, and the rice dumplings from West City…”
Every time I mentioned what I wanted to eat, Tiffany would reluctantly get in her car and go pick them up. Often, traffic would keep her stuck for hours.
As for the food she brought back, I’d throw it in the trash right in front of her.
“Cold? Are you trying to harm my baby?”
“I don’t want it anymore.”
Tiffany trembled with anger, tears welling up in her eyes.
Peter could only smooth things over, “Casey’s just having a rough time with pregnancy, the little one inside is probably giving
her a hard time.”
Whenever Peter mentioned the baby, Tiffany’s gaze softened a little.
Once the two were alone, Tiffany sobbed in his arms, “She’s torturing me on purpose! I’m just a secretary, not a maid. Why should I do everything she asks?”
Peter held her comfortingly, “Don’t be upset. Once she gives birth, you won’t have to deal with her anymore.”
Tiffany gritted her teeth, “That bitch, when my son grows up and inherits the Morgan family’s fortune, I’ll make her regret it!”
I watched the two of them through the surveillance cameras, enjoying the sight of them like puppets on strings.
After my parents died in a car accident, the relatives of the Morgan family all came out of the woodwork, eager to take the family’s resources,
Even my parents‘ former trusted aides betrayed us, trying to claim a piece of the pie.

Chapter 2
With my ruthless and calculated methods, I drove away
all the wolves circling around the Morgan family-
bankrupting those who sought to take advantage and sending others to prison.
But when I met Peter, he was like a ray of sunshine, warm and bright.
So, I hid my sharp claws and let him see only the softer side of me.
Once Peter joined the Morgan Group, I deliberately stepped back from the front lines and stopped involving myself in
business affairs.
I took a deep breath, my eyes growing cold. The feeling of being in control of everything was exhilarating.
The plan was already in motion. I just had to wait for the prey to fall into the trap.
But I don’t want to rush to catch the prey. Watching it jump around in the cage, thinking it has reached heaven-
only to strike when they are at their most smug–that’s the most satisfying.
And right now, I haven’t let Peter off easy.
I had the nanny on the night shift take a paid leave.
When Peter got hungry at night, he had to get up and cook. If the food didn’t suit my taste, he would have to redo it, over and over again.
“Don’t bother, I’m fine. I’ll just let the baby and I go a little hungry,” I said.
This only made Peter grit his teeth and try again.
By the time Tiffany and Peter were on the brink of collapse, my son, Patrick, was born.
I booked the best confinement center and hired the most experienced nanny.
For milk powder, diapers, and everything else for the baby, I insisted on the highest–quality brands.
Tiffany came to visit with clothes for the newborn.
Muttering under her breath, she said, “A slut like her deserves such a high–class confinement center? Isn’t she spending Peter’s
money?”
Then, with a smile full of false sweetness, she added, “Casey, your son is so lucky. He’s born into a life of luxury!”
I looked down, gently cradling my newborn son. “My son will have a smooth road ahead of him, thanks to me”
Her eyes flickered with a mixture of unwillingness and a strange sense of satisfaction. She cautiously asked,
“It’s great. Born as the heir of the Morgan family, when he grows up, he’ll inherit the company, right?”
I gave her a light glance, and Tiffany instinctively shrank back.
“When my son turns 18, I’ll transfer all the shares to him.”
At that moment, Peter came in hurriedly after finishing an online meeting. When he locked eyes with Tiffany, they both exchanged knowing smiles.
